Gaming center vs car.

Blake mcBlake

So I realized that my setup has exceeded the retail value of my current vehicle. I'm a little over 3k including my peripherals..amps and all that crap. My old truck probably worth around 2500. Wondering if anyone else finds themselves in this unique situation

Yep. I paid £2000 for my car, and my setup is worth around twice that as of now. I don't regret it or anything. My car is in good condition and does what I need it to do. Bear in mind you also have to pay for insurance and such, which is around £1500 a year for me when I include MOT and tax. Even more if I include petrol.

I have that inner discussion a couple times every summer. (just on a smaller scale)

Invest into a small scooter to drive around town, or get a beastly GPU (or any other PC aprt, really). I allways end up getting the PC part because a scooter has too high running costs for me.

who cares...

So yeah my 700 USD PC is cheap.

I'm a student and I drive an electric scooter (I live in China-so no car...). It cost me around $500-600. My Phone, Tablet and Laptop cost around $3000 all together. Note that these have been acquired over the years (my laptop is in my sig and is brand new, my iPad is a year old, my iPhone almost three) and my parents paid for them. The scooter I paid for myself.

My current PC was roughly 10% of what I paid for my car. Even if I had an unlimited amount of money there's only so much I'd spend on a PC but I'd probably go crazy with mechanical keyboards and other peripherals :P

I don't really care much about cars but that Tesla Model S though...

Right now I am considering a rig that would be more expensive than what my old car would be valued at today. Unfortunately I cannot tell for sure since I drove that car into a fucking pole and totaled it, and since I have less and less reasons to own a car myself (my household already owns 2 cars and I live in a pretty big city: getting around in public transport + cabs is actually fairly easy)

My car was $2000 and my PC was $1300. But my car is worth $500 now and my PC is worth more than that, even without the 4 hard drives.

Yeah no, my rig isn't even worth 10% of my truck. Truck was almost $26k CAD. Rig complete is somewhere like $2300 right now.

I'm not even looking at my off-road toys (snowmobiles anyone?).

Gotta love having a solid job and a smart head on my shoulders.

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

I bought my car for around $21,000.

It's probably now only worth around $5,000 - $8,000.

My road bike (Trek Domane) was purchased for around $2,300.

I think I've spent around $2,000-$2,500 on my computer...

The closest thing i have to any personal transport vehicle is me walking down the road yelling BEEP BEEP. My PC cost me roughly 700 quid.

If i had enough money, i could see myself spending around 50% of my extra cash on PC parts, regardless of how many PC's I end up having. I will only stop when my annual PC expenditure matches my electricity bill.

Everything said by me is my humble opinion and nothing more, unless otherwise stated.

I got my first car (Lumina) for $999 my first gaming PC. $1,000. Buy what ever makes you feel better or is more needed at the time. Of course now I have a Acura and a Dodge druck. although in 1997 a good gaming PC with a Pentium II was baller!

If you are seriously considering video games over your vehicle, you are not a car enthusiasts. In that case, go drive a VW Beetle. :P
