Yeah that's complicated, not sure how you'd collect that via the browser.

 

Its a shame F@H doesn't monitor this information itself, although this seems far more possible in v8 given its open source.

I elevated my foldboxes on an older PC case to get them further away from cat level.

And yes, the door frame definitely needs re-painting but I'm so clumsy banging into it when moving things around it hardly seems worth it.

I had two cats until about 5 months ago when my old man died, so if anything I'm just restoring the balance

Thank you. I know this method and used it quite a lot, but somehow never thought of trying that on a GPU.

I tried it and found out, one of the VRM mosfets shorted out and the 12V now go directly into the GPU itself.

So this one is a no fix. But at least, now i know for sure.

so had the auddacity to play a game for an hour today and somehow my folding stopped for 4. . . definitely getting kicked out of the the top 100 now 😞

Do consider that depending on the game, you might not even need to stop.

I’m running at full power was trying to stay in the top 100.  I figured throw it on “when idle “ but it’s just never went back to idle lol.

I haven't dared with The Talos Principle 2 (already hammers the 4090) or Starfield.  But anything not extremely recent I usually leave it running.

 

The Crew 2 barely registers on the 4090 pulling about 130W, but it is an ancient engine at this point.  Though even when I had lower cards, it didn't really impact the game presumably as its not heavily using shaders.

 

In other news, I see people are selling 3D printed 140mm to 100m adapters for fans now so I ordered one to see if I can redirect the PC exhaust out of my room so I can run the gaming PC without cooking or having to run the AC.  I was honestly tempted to get an inline bathroom fan. 😉

I'm dubious a 3D printed part will handle the heat or weight of pipework, but worth a try.

Folding power doesn't actually change the GPU usage, it alters how many CPU threads are in use and determines if it should fold all the time or only when the PC is idle.

 

Folding however seems to be low priority, so anything else you are doing on the GPU takes priority.  So gaming just slows down F@H based on how much the game is using.

 

This is purely GPU folding, I wouldn't CPU fold while gaming.

I have 32 threads, I fold on 16 of them 24/7 even when streaming
