I just did some napkin math and turns out our team should have enough points in ~7 days to reach 2^41 (which is 2,199,023,255,552). Yes, for the math teachers I am about to show my work (EDIT: new math that doesn't forget 1/3 of the team points):

Math worky bits:

A) Current team score (at 01:22 UTC): 2,176,254,112,487

B) 2^41: 2,199,023,255,552

C) 2^41 - current_score: 22,769,143,065

D) the average daily score between 11.03.23 and 11.13.23: 3,176,744,007.7272

Part C / Part D: 7.16744 ≈ 7 days

Maths!

I think the F@H will have to start allocating extra storage just for the LTT score (1 bit at a time!)

Part C / Part D: 10.32679 ≈ 10 days

The team does more than the event

On a side note, I seem to be slipping away from my goal of rank 152: I gained 4 ranks these past 2 days and I'm now at 137.

The PIDs are going to be reused at some point. A lot of the time, it just takes a while for the PID counter to roll over (you want it to roll over so you can ensure that ALL processes have a unique PID value and 2 processed do not have the same PID). This of course is exclusing the kernel PIDs where I believe (IIRC) many of the kernel processes are just put in a smaller pool of PIDs (since they start first) and some kernel processed end up intermingling with the other PIDs as processes get destroyed and created.

The lifecycle of a process is amazing... Launch to Allocation to Processing and arguing with the kernel to Deallocation (and sometimes forcefully).

yes i have seen that quite often.

with my 2xxx my 3xxx systems have that issue my intel system i had during covid response didn't seem to care BUT i cheated it was a dual cpu system and folded on the second CPU it crippled the system if i folded on main CPU.

This is a pretty random comment, but my 4090 FE has the loudest coil whine of any GPU I've owned in the last decade. I can hear the high pitched chirping from clear across the bedroom, and it's a perpetual, and slightly maddening, reminder that folding month is afoot.

It's actually so easily audible that, when I picked it up last month, I ended up grabbing another from the local store in hopes of returning the first. That second card was even louder, with a lower pitched drone -- it sounded like a hornet's nest buzzing away in my PC, and ended up going back. I may have to invest in a case with sound deadening panels at some point.

Least it still isn't as bad as my old GTX 670. Could hear that thing from multiple rooms away.

Well -- I've got it on a UPS that should clean up the power, and tried it across two power supplies, but I suppose it could be something from the local substation being screwy.

Tell you what, just send me a few of these bad boys to hold onto for a bit as collateral and I'll get it sent right over: https://www.inno3d.com/en/PRODUCT_INNO3D_GEFORCE_RTX_4070_Ti_X3

lol....

but in all honesty thats why i was afraid of buying a non evga card as people have complained of coil wines on some 3070s and have seen it with a pny 3070 bought and returned when i bought my evga 3070s and a dell 3070 (dell replaced and got better designed 3070(Founders edition)) Friends Alienware desktop...(before people shoot me for letting him buy an alienware desktop...this was during covid and the i7 11th gen 32 gb ram 1tb ssd 3070 was cheaper than i could have aquired just the gpu and cpu stand alone, the plan was one day to move to a real chassis but hes had no issus with it so long as he cleans it every 6 mohths...)

but my 2 evgas the only noise they make is when the fan runs.

yes i know people have complained about it with evga cards too but that's why i avoided the lower cost evga cards.

lol....

but in all honesty thats why i was afraid of buying a non evga card as people have complained of coil wines on some 3070s and have seen it with a pny 3070 bought and returned when i bought my evga 3070s and a dell 3070 (dell replaced and got better designed 3070(Founders edition)) Friends Alienware desktop...

but my 2 evgas the only noise they make is when the fan runs.

yes i know people have complained about it with evga cards too but that's why i avoided the lower cost evga cards.

That GTX 670 I mentioned -- the one that could be heard from multiple rooms away, with coil whine much louder than the fan -- was actually a relatively high end EVGA model. It was a GTX 670 FTW, which was a blower style card, but the very loud fan was still much quieter than the electrical noise.

That being said, I bought near exclusively EVGA from that point forward until they stopped making GPUs, and never had another one coil whine again. Makes me wonder if the 600 series is what got them to start paying attention to it.

could be though i will admit my 5700xt from xfx has coil wine IF it is allowed to idle low enough...having any 2 monitors thou push it hard enough that it doesn't wine so long as you dont let the monitors blank out or dont stop folding...

This may help…

Not much of a Gamer….. But I have thing about F@H that may be a little over the top.   See my builds here
