Yes it is against the rules.

Rules? Rules are meant to be broken! Just as your legs when you don't follow the rules.

Hey guys, this is Austin

Hey Austin, this is Linus

Reminder

The IIA rule applies here:

I'm mostly speaking from experience so what I say may not work

I may be a complete asshole in some threads but I swear that I won't lie

Anyways, I am always glad to help

I'm new to the forum so Hi everyone, also this thread seems a bit pointless. A general topic thread but everyone is keeping their "mouths" shut for fear of the thread being closed, I'm actually bored of what I'm writing here, so there's that.

I found a pube in a customers CPU socket the other day, system wouldn't post so I went to reseat the CPU and there it was, a single golden curly pube. Three questions that came to mind were; How did it get in there? If it was causing a short why didn't it burn? The customer had black hair so who's was it? Customer swears that they didn't touch the PC prior to bringing it to the service centre. Mentalimages.thumb.jpg.c701f8ed77309bb6b6d9bc05b3246fb6.jpg!

I recently repaired a laptop.

In doing so, I replaced enough parts to equate to about 75% of the mass of the original laptop (also in number of parts, rough estimate). I did so because I was told it was not enough parts to warrant a "whole unit replacement".

*french accent* two days later

"Why did you replace this many parts? This should have been a whole unit replacement?"

(It looked like the laptop had been "tomahawked" down a flight of stairs)

Well, maybe some might find it a bit funny.

Had issues with a network that me and the unit was managing.  Called the network chaps.  Said they had no clue what was up.  Kept calling them and said issue is on their end.  They kept telling it was on ours.  I kept troubleshooting up to the router (the network peeps password locked it, so it was their end).  No issues on our side, called again, telling them it is on the router and for them to fix the darn thing.  We finally get the senior net engineer.  Engineer acts like there is no issue and can't find any problem.  I stare at the router terminal screen, it is screaming about a no option 125...   We tell the bugger to clear the conflicts, engineer says has no clue how to see those....  Our unit: o.O  (seriously!?).

I inform the individual on the phone talking to this engineer on what the commands are.  Engineer finally sees the issue and clears the conflicts.  Network is finally back up.  All of us in the unit proceed to just shake our heads.  Now our senior wants to verbally chew this engineer out.  New issue, calming the senior down.  :P

So let's chit-chat away.
