Is there something in the air on LTT Forums the past week?

There's been at least 3 new posters being rude and foul mouthed.

I think in the short time I've been here I've only seen it one other time.

If you want too and have considered the consequences then sure.

Right now it's for a direct link to my main UnRAID machine with the same model NIC.  However eventually I'll get a 10 gig switch and that'll just become the main NIC.  For now, every PC relies on the 1gig network for internet access and reaching the rest of the network.  Two more of my PCs now have Asus 10gig NICs but they're on the 1gig network still.  Got the cards for free so just installed them so it was 'ready go go' when the switch upgrade comes some day.

I move files around. 🙂  Usually it's when I'm ripping BluRays and copying the final rip from my desktop to UnRAID.  When it's like 120GB for 24-26 eps of anime, well that takes a while at 1gig.

The two other machines with 10gig nics on the 1gig network don't need the bandwidth so much, but when someone offers you free NICs, do you say 'No'?

I've been asked many times what having ADHD is like in daily life. I finally figured it out: New Whonnock with the Intel drives array.

for me it's sitting in front of dozens of tvs all on different channels. I can't turn off any TV or turn down the sound, but there's one in the middle just slightly larger than the rest, and I'm supposed to pay close attention to that one. Also I can't choose the channels, and if I actually manage to focus on that one in the middle, the rest of the tvs get louder.

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

I experimented with something today and found it to be very funny.

I was reading a news article about the smartest Portuguese man (Fabiano de Abreu) in the world, who has countless PhDs and Master degrees in different areas of study and he was a MENSA member who also recently joined INTERTEL (two elitist groups for the 2% and 1% highest IQ human beings currently alive, respectively).

I used MENSA IQ simulator and received no definitive answer to my IQ - I'm either extremely retarded or extremely gifted (probably the former, btw) but an hilarious result nonetheless.

Anyone ever tried this MENSA "test"?

I tried it for fun, I didn't manage to complete all the questions in time (ran out of time on exercise 31, 18-50 age range) but this is what it ranked me as

Maybe only the region in gray is where they can measure? I don't know how accurate this result is, I've never taken any formal IQ test

Because all the cool kids need two keys to even turn their laptop on.

future plans:

-rgb backlit keyboard

-integrating a really nice microphone from a good laptop into this laptop

-same thing but a 1080p webcam

-built in DAC/AMP in the ultrabase, because an expresscard soundblaster can’t play DSD512

-at some point I’ll replace the motherboard with an x220i celeron model, and replace the display with the 1080p mod

Might order more of them. Battery powered, bright, magnetic and cheap enough to just spam then in every corner where you need a flashlight, e.g. back of the PC or control cabinet.

is that a PIR sensor in the middle? or a luminosity sensor?

Did the external antenna mod for my PSP back in the day, damn it can make such a huge difference. (As in double the range if the built in PCB antenna is shite).
