The Linus Tech Tips, TechLinked, and TechQuickie Youtube channels have been restored.

Thanks for the concern everyone. We are still in recovery mode over here and working with YouTube to get everything restored. Will hopefully have a video (or at least an update on WAN Show) to share with you all ASAP, but we want to make sure we get the details right since smaller channels may rely on our experience to help harden their own security.

Now a LTT Temp for me. I guess all the "European guard" and "insomniac gang" can do is to report the streams. It's still quite early in Canada. Hope they notice soon.

had to make an account here just to report it, good to see im not the only one, they've changed to LinusTechTipsTemp at @temporaryhandle and doing an elon musk stream, i got shocked since i know for a fact linus wont do such thing, then i realized it's definitely hacked, hope the channel gets back to the usual, this must be stressful

What I find interesting is that the other channels seem to be unaffected, it's just the main channel.

Well, they are active around the clock, I would eat my hat if any of the moderators wouldn't have some direct communication lines to the LMG staff from who some are also active on the forums and I would be surprised when comparing how important the server rack (or racks, I haven't really kept a count) is to LTT that they didn't have 24/7 monitoring and sudden spike in action should send some messages at least.

If you follow the trail you will get to them.

You certainly can steal credit card information and use it for criminal activity. Also, the whois record is usually nowadays not really an indication who actually owns a domain.
