Should I start a neighborhood computer repair business?

I need to earn some extra dough, so I need to make money fast. I at least know the types of components and common mistakes inside of a PC. Should I start one? And the price may start around 10 bucks for repairs.

Before you do, offer to do a bunch of free stuff for people to get your name out. Once some people know you're not a 12 year old idiot who's going to break it, then maybe you can start one.

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

If somebody said they would repair PC problems I had for $10 (if I lived in the US) I would not trust them.

Like cleaning out their computers or if anyone has issues to let your try a crack at it. Also to keep in mind, you probably only have a few years of experience and there is a whole bunch of stuff you aren't going to know. It's really hard to start a business in something you have a relatively small amount of experience in.

I've fixed so many PCs in my own house, I know what I'm dealing with, maybe.

No, because then you would have to deal with idiots screwing up and making you fix it for free.

I can say in the flyer, "if you intentionally screw up your PC, I am not going to fix it." Plus, I'm gonna assume they molested it, jacking it off with it or something...

Haha I am fourteen and I can confirm this. It's quite frustrating. I can just show them stuff I have done and/or show them mah portfolio if they can understand what I do.

Why not look at getting a part time job at a computer stores?

 

It'll add to your resume for later jobs and provide more support and security compared to going alone.

No computer store other than Best Buy within 80 miles. Plus, I need paperwork from my high school in order to work at a store part time.
