Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

You can browse the page 5929 but if you click to 5930, it throws out the following message.

 

Another thing I noticed is that page numbers is decreasing?

What happened?

Some sort of overflow error? or did someone delete their account?

 

Here is what I mean. Latest post in this page shows up in

Meanwhile total number of pages is +1 of that.

Yeah, I get the same thing. Except now it's on 5924 as the final page with 5923 as the last with content.

There's also 10ish pages that went missing, we were in the 5930s last night, and more are being removed steadily.

I remember it having more than 151k replies, it's already at 148k.

Looks like a user's content is being deleted. It's on page ~2960 now. You can watch as they go away.

A user with about 4k posts, many of which are presumably in that topic, has just deleted their account. The size of that topic is really screwing things up.

 

It will hopefully recover in the next 6 hours or so, but other than that there's not much we can do.

Got to be honest, I don't think 150k post topic are particularly common in practice, but I will report it.

Some of the latest posts are missing (were appearing yesterday) and I have notifications for posts that aren't appearing for me, so yeah, still not at 100%.

Should be solved now. If anyone had replied to the topic at any point in the past 16 hours, it should have fixed itself, but apparently nobody did.

would it be a good idea to "archive" topics if they reach a certain point? like make a new topic and lock the old one, put the link in the first post?

Perhaps, but I don't think this will be a frequent enough issue to justify that (I'm only aware of one other time ever where this h a problem).
