ASUS Z97 Motherboard Lineup Unveiled – Hero, Gene, Ranger, Sabertooth, Deluxe pictured

ocCuS

I know most of the gamers like the black and red theme, but if Asus were to release a full black Formula(rough, mean and serious) I would be sooo happy...

I would pay the $300-$320 they ask for it...

Why no yellow or green? Those could make pretty interesting builds...

I've been trying to find a yellow accented motherboard and i'm not really interested in the MSI ones.

Has anyone nailed down a release date for Z97 boards?

I'm still using an old (yet still strong) i7 920 lga1366 set up, overclocked yes, but will these boards be a substantial upgrade for me?

the lower heatsink on the ROG boards is ugly, looks like a magazine from an ak-47 or something with the way its curved..

edit:

did some googling, it's actually not bad.

Looks like a rebranded z87 what's so special about the "new" z97

Supports the Haswell refresh and the next CPUs(Broadwell).

ASUS-Z97-Deluxe-2-635x476.jpg

yeah, i think it's silver/nickel/some grey metal. the pic isn't the best quality, but look at the color difference between this and...

Z97-Gryphoon-635x476.jpg

this. much lighter.

Now, if they can just make all the LED lighting white...

that still looks gold but more champagne

Did they ditch the gold color scheme? :o

I hope they did not do that. The gold looks pretty nice.

Except when they look like diarrhea gold...

I have blue case fans, so the Asus gold looks more blueish/silver.

Where's the ITX board :C

They are rarely if ever out with the main release, as they take considerably more effort to develop and perfect. There is just so little space to work with to create a good product. Though I'd say ASUS particularly are starting to get really good at ITX, their P8Z77-I Deluxes changed the world.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
