This is flawed they changed it from 7.9 max to 9.9 max and then in 8.1 got rid of it :(

Windows 8.1 is probs the best OS so far. There is nothing wrong with it now except the users themselves. After a month or two of metro it becomes so much quicker than the start menu system. stop being afraid of change!

Its the only OS to support DX11.2.

I can list many more things that make it the best.

The OS Individuals use is based on user preference. That's why it's a competitive market. Linux, Windows, Mac. Different versions of windows compete with each other. I prefer 7, not because I'm "Afraid of change" but because I like the way it functions. I will most likely be upgrading to a better version of 8 or early version of 9 when they've released more functions which I like. I'm not an apps based user, I don't enjoy that interface, I don't need that interface, it makes multitasking and managing large amounts of things very inefficient.

 

Windows 7 will also support direct X 12. Look it up.

 

It's user preference, please don't be offended by a poorly made joke.

I was actually reluctant to go back to 7 after my 8.1 install corrupted itself.

Nah. The performance is adequate. And SSDs are pricy as all hell. So i won't be getting one of those any time soon.

It's still a 7200rpm drive.  ^_^

I have a barracuda 7200rpm drive + an ancient samsung drive + an ancient WD drive and an old laptop drive and it's completely silent  ^_^

All i can hear is a very slight wooshing sound coming from my 600rpm 200mm fans :)

With the last test I did, I think I got a 5.1. Mainly because of the fact that I use a normal Seagate Barracuda instead of an SSD of somesort.

Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 Gunmetal Black CPU: i7-4770k Cooler: Corsair H100i RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance Pro GPU: ASUS Direct CUII 770 MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Hero PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 G2
