What's the oldest piece of tech that you still use?

pyral

By tech I don't mean a hammer, I mean something electronic. I still use a KX-55W to make tapes for the car and my current phone is an iphone 5.

Oneplus 6. Kept it for the headphone jack. I had its battery replace a couple months ago and I used a good case and screen protector. It is just like a new phone. With 8 gig ram and snapdragon 845, it won't age for a long time.

A TI-85 that I program for various calculation tasks at work. Eventually I'm going to have to translate those programs into another version of TI-Basic, because sadly the screen is starting to fail as they all do.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Wheel. I got 4 of 'em on my truck.

For uh... 'Modern technology', probably a switch that was salvaged by the previous owner of the house from something antique. It's used on the irrigation pump, which is in a pump house, so it's pretty difficult to get pics of it sadly.

Off the top of my head would be a core 2 duo and core 2 quad system, both are running right now

Benchie (in my sig) is my core 2 quad system, though I've been using it for something else so it's no longer Benchie, in a sense that it's not for my bench to test hardwares.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Bench top power supply, doesn't even have a brand it was a custom unit made for a rank arena repair shop in Sydney. 60's maybe 70's

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

The simple eloquence of the phrase often uttered on internet forums leaves any reading it in no doubt as to the true intent of the wording. 10yo laptop as my secondary one. 2nd dual core gen i5, GT540m, 6GB ram. Hyperthreading was a feature then even on "core" lineup and can be disabled in BIOS. Desktop crashes when I force it to run on integrated GPU xd. Battery is completely dead. I recently put an SSD in there to make it somewhat usable. Has an integrated DVD reader, usefuel when I can't find my external one for new laptop.

8yo NAS, 3TB HDD, one of those ready-out-of-the-box from WD. Actually it is bottlenecked by my extender secondary router it is connected to that can only do 100Mb via LAN.

9yo monitor as my secondary one. 1080p60, made by Samsung.

I have a barn which has a switchboard. I think it was put in sometime in the 1930s, but the barn is older than the 1920s.

So to clarify, power goes to a few lights. Bulbs have never been replaced so IDK how old they are. Also has a water pump, but thats 'new'.

For like computer-tech, probably an old plasma from 2004? that hardly gets used. On a daily basis, would be my Apple Watch.

lol the vehicles at work are ancient jap imports that actually have some nice electronics in them. Some of the hondas have a CD player that can keep about 10 CDs in memory. At least one ~15 yo car has a vtech engine and a 7 speed gear box. I'd buy any of the models that dont have a CVT transmission.
