CORSAIR - NEW RMX SERIES VERSION?

Sakee__

Is Corsair preparing something new for us or it's just like the new Power Play versions of some other series (modified to meet the ATX12V V2.52 standard)?

It looks like it's from the what's new page on cybenetics but it's not/(no longer?) listed there. Someone published something they shouldn't have.

This is weird because we never posted anything like this. Can I know please when this screenshot was taken?

I guess @Sakee__ is some sort of hacker or something. BTW nice... We now know that Corsair is preparing to launch another RMx.

More importantly, can someone tell 'cybenetics' that they're missing an 'r'?  this is the most fake looking logo I've ever seen. 😂

Oh, now I realized that I was the only one who was reading the Cybenetics website a few days ago (I do it almost everyday). I thought Aris had removed it because the report was not ready.

March, 1st. This is strange, because I could also find (only) the RM1000X on February, 28th.

  • 4 weeks later...

Looks quite a bit louder than the 2018 version (RM850x) which is rated A+ for noise.

Yeah.  Triangles aren't the best shape for airflow.  😞

It's sad to think of the low noise that was unique to RMx.😭

Is there a reason why triangular perforations were adopted?

I guess the design team doesn't like the engineering team that much....

Actually, we've fixed the fan speed and will get Aris a new sample.

Reduced the RPM by 100 across the board.  Only problem is the bridge diode is getting pretty hot when running the PSU at 50°C.  It's a "pass", but I like more margin.  Might have to either beef up the BD or put a bigger heatsink on it.

Honestly i find pretty much all Corsair cases to be rather ugly, and this one is not an exception, i get it, some people will like them but overall you don't see Corsair cases in builds very often despite they have a lot of them, i wonder why ?

So does this mean I shouldn’t buy the RM1000x, sitting at my local Micro Center, that says copyright 2018 on it?  Should I wait for this new version?

I may be wrong but i recall Jon saying that any refreshes (expect TX-m refresh) that would come would mainly to satisfy a new low load efficiency requirements, incorporating burst mode PWM controller (which may introduce coil whine on low load), that's all, so i wouldn't wait for it, RM-x is already a very good PSU.

I’ve secured it.  I’ll take the Micro Center markup over the scalper gouge.

Is it very likely that all fan grills (including HXi and AXi) are going to be replaced with triangular perforations?

at least it's not an nzxt h510. I'd rather have just about any corsair case that I can think of than a nzxt h510
