IS THERE SUCH A THING AS TOO MUCH RGB?!

I do know, I wish stuff in those colors was easier and cheaper to get. Planning the old lady's build is....difficult..... She wants to do something like this... "Gamer girl" tax is real... Looks like she's going to learn how to sleeve and paint.

In all seriousness, some RGB can look good. I would like to set us up with Hue lights and all that. Mostly for the softer blue light. I do like being able to change colors on stuff, but IMHO not everything needs to be a Christmas tree. For me, when I buy something computer related, it has to do it's job. That's the main thing. If it has RGB, then so be it. It just won't get plugged in if it doesn't want to cooperate. Slim Noctuas just made too much sense for my PC. I really "couldn't" do a TG side panel on my case. I need to see about adding some holes for breathing in it actually.

Thats not bad at all. The keyboard being lit up is probably the only one that one could argue would be essential for any kind of dim or low light setting. I personally didn't like having my monitors being a singular beacon of light in an otherwise dark room. More often than not I have everything else off but the LED strips behind the desk and monitor just so its not like looking into a flashlight lol.

And theres nothing wrong with some DIY love for the old lady. You could do it together 🙂

For sure. It's no different than her rifle. She's building it. I'll help her and say "don't do that" ahaha

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Tasteful. I respect it 🙂

I finally figured out how to set up my RGB software, and since my exhaust fan was dying (it lived for 10 years) I bought a 12v RGB fan since I don't have any ARGB headers.

It should arrive in 3 days.

My plan is to use this fan, and then mod my side fan with RGB LEDs, taking up my 2 12v RGB headers.

Then, once I get a motherboard upgrade, I can get an ARGB rear exhaust fan.

My case has its own RGB on the case fans which is pretty nice. I have a sickleflow RGB that I purchased before I realized I had no ARGB header so it stays dark but spins hard lol. The 2 200mm case fans have their own RGB and the rear exhaust is a Noctua. Its really old and I wanna replace it but... its a really nice case lol big shoes to fill. I've already got a few components lined up for my upgrades when finances permit including a MOBO with ARGB headers lol

When I was like 15 years old, I got my hands on them old trailing lights from an arcade that was closing shop because console games like the NES system where super popular.

Anyhow, we lived in an apartment and my room was always lit up like an arcade! Had christmas lights up all the time and of course back then, glow in the dark was a cool thing to do also.

So I got older and really it wasn't a thing for a very long time in the PC market really. But I think it really helps bring fun to the hobby 🙂

led moding has be in pc for ever. we just whent from led to argb skipping the rgb led phase. back then a good led fan was like the vages led fans that have like 30 leds on it. we had cold cathode as are strips.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

Hmm... How much better is the 3080 over the 3070 though? If the performance gain is minimal and you can find a 3070 card that looks nicer and goes with your set up more then I could see it happening.

more that a little. The 200$ price difference isn't there to show off.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

The only RGB thing in my setup is my mouse. Its LED colors are set to olive green.

If you couldn't tell, RGB lighting is annoying as hell to me.

one thing that sucks about white in RGB lights is it doesn't re-produce it as well as normal White LEDs do lol

I do wished the RGB trend would die already but it seems like it's here to stay for a little bit longer

lol this guy gets it. Yeah my entire room/battlestation is decked out in rgb down to the bulbs in my lamps lol. Its shockingly cheap to do so XD

The problem is also a shockingly easy cause for failure, especially if it's cheap...

Also yeah it *can* look good (if it's not actually rainbow vomit) but do I really want this right next to my face when playing video games, etc? hell no. ;D
