IS THERE SUCH A THING AS TOO MUCH RGB?!

PhoenixFire22588

Kinda of realizing the amount of RGB accessories I've accumulated over the years. I hate yellow light so the whole theme fits like a slipper lol but I'm sitting at my desk, looking at the THREE RGB REMOTES behind my keyboard, wondering if I'm finally done or will I find something else I wanna slap an LED strip on lol.

Besides mouse and keyboard, this is all the RGB in my system. You can't change that from red either that I know of. Yes, you can have too much. I already have too much.

That GPU was hard enough to get once. I don't really want to try again 😉

As the darkness enjoyer I am, I haven't even connected the front panel LEDs to my mobo and covered the monitor's power LED with black tape.

Seriously though, I can't sleep if there are blinking lights coming from the computer, my room has to be pitch dark and absolutely silent if I want to sleep.

Ah but everything can be powered off :D. I too ran into this issue once upon a time lol. Awake, my room is lit the fuck up. Asleep, its darker than dark lol

When you sacrifice performance for RGB then it's too much but if you get desirable performance then you can do RGB.

When building a PC and you say "I don't need X let me get RGB instead". Like if you're stuck between an RTX 3070 and 3080 and go with the 3070 to have RGB.

No way.

More RGB the better. I even dropped a blue case power LED into the LN2 pot to give it B effects like in my avatar picture.

I gave up. It's like RGB is on everything I buy these days. Pretty soon, RGB will be on phones and toasters..... it's spreading like the 1980 something blob movie. XD

Hmm... How much better is the 3080 over the 3070 though? If the performance gain is minimal and you can find a 3070 card that looks nicer and goes with your set up more then I could see it happening.

When I was like 15 years old, I got my hands on them old trailing lights from an arcade that was closing shop because console games like the NES system where super popular.

Anyhow, we lived in an apartment and my room was always lit up like an arcade! Had christmas lights up all the time and of course back then, glow in the dark was a cool thing to do also.

So I got older and really it wasn't a thing for a very long time in the PC market really. But I think it really helps bring fun to the hobby 🙂

Absolutely lol. Its all about the ambience. I adjust the lights for what Im doing and how im feeling lol. The LED strips behind my monitor are audio responsive so I can turn on a movie or even during gaming I can make it flash or pulse or strobe to the sound. Gonna channel my inner teenager here but ITS FUCKIN COOL DUDE lol

Absolutelyfuckingnot lol but maybe I grab the ROG strix RGB with an on board screen to go with the set up rather than a stock 3080. Feels like a difference lmao

I do know, I wish stuff in those colors was easier and cheaper to get. Planning the old lady's build is....difficult..... She wants to do something like this... "Gamer girl" tax is real... Looks like she's going to learn how to sleeve and paint.

In all seriousness, some RGB can look good. I would like to set us up with Hue lights and all that. Mostly for the softer blue light. I do like being able to change colors on stuff, but IMHO not everything needs to be a Christmas tree. For me, when I buy something computer related, it has to do it's job. That's the main thing. If it has RGB, then so be it. It just won't get plugged in if it doesn't want to cooperate. Slim Noctuas just made too much sense for my PC. I really "couldn't" do a TG side panel on my case. I need to see about adding some holes for breathing in it actually.

I don't have my PC in my room.

And my style is a black case with just some RGB.

Not full-on, unicorn-barfed-all-over-your-case RGB.

Just some - maybe a ring around the fans.

Entirely  personal preference. If you want to add enough lighting (and make it unicorn vomit at that) so that it can be seen from space, that's your prerogative.

Me? I'll stick to accent lighting, mostly white, occasionally orange, rarely green. LED strips are at about 5% brightness, enough to give a very soft glow, no RGB fans, EK Acetal Velocity set to 100%, white.
