Lost an item worth over 100$ from AliExpress - is there anything to do?

Filingo

The seller provided a "tracking number" - but it only shows "Delivered to <city, country>". But that's it. 2 months and it never updated. Who's fault is that? The post office and customs here don't have any information either.

What can I do?

Thanks

Probably a wrong tracking number. I'd just be patient, shipping from China takes a while.

What did you buy?

Is the city it shows delivered to your city? Perhaps they delivered it to the wrong address by mistake.

Also double check the shipping information you provided was correct.

I had the same thing happening to me - Aliexperess tracking shows the item has been delivered to me, but tracking site 17Track shows it was delivered to a neighbouring country.

Have not sorted out the matter yet, but the shop admitted their fault and offered a full refund.

Have you already contacted the seller?

How did you pay?

Can you open a case with the payment solution to dispute it?

Thank you guys. I did not complete the transaction so I can still dispute. The problem is that I have bad experience with AliExpress even when I dispute, but in this case it's an expensive item so I wanted to know my best steps to do before I open dispute.

I used 17 TRACK as well and it only shows "Shipped to this city" but that doesn't mean it arrives, it's only the destination, because it was updated on the same day of shipping.

Seller says he shipped and it's lost in my country's post office/customs, but they don't have any information regarding this number

Didn´t you pay with paypal? Always recommended to use it or a similar payment provider because you can open a case with them instead of AliExpress

Aliexpress doesn't support PayPal.

Aliexpress does support PayPal? Maybe it differs from region.

Hm, I guess they've added support for PayPal since the last time I bought something there. PayPal wasn't an option when I last bought stuff.

I used PayPal some weeks ago and their airfright doesn't allow magnets so the seller wanted me to dispute and within a day, I got refunded very quick. It was even in weekend too. Today got my money back too after I got scammed by eBay seller selling me a counterfeit Marshall Stockwell speaker lol. PayPal is the best if you have strong evidence.
