Anyone know what this factory made?   There was a famous incident some years ago where  a mattress factory burned and it made natural latex mattresses unbuyable for near 10 years.  There was another one where a battery factory burned and it effectively ended use for a particular kind of high safety lithium battery that made mechanical e-cigarette power systems much less safe to use.

Whilst i seriously doubt that was actually the cause, such Rube Goldberg incidents do happen from time to time. Real life is funny like that.

A 7th grader in my school broke their phone, got mad, slammed it on the ground, threw it away. Then the battery started to heat up, melting plastic, and burning paper, which set off the fire alarms. Everyone left immeadetly, auto messages went out, fire department showed up, etc. Real life sucks.

Seems to be the norm in China for egregious acts. It's so secrective over there its not worth trying to decipher anything. They make the world see what they want the world to see.

Depends.  We don’t know what the factory was making or what was in the factory that got destroyed.  If, for example it was their entire supply of some gpu chip already in short supply the world supply of that type of gpu just got smaller.   It’s also possible that factory was the sole supplier of some part used by other companies.  That’s generally what causes a big ripple effect.  If it isn’t though you’re right.  By itself it may have no major effect.  Unless it does.  What was in the factory, and what the burning of the factory affected could possibly matter quite bit outside of MSI itself. Factories are frequently in industrial parks so that factory going up could have affected other factories around it that make other things.

For MSI cards. Correct. Which I'd never buy. Hence my comment.

MSI doesn't supply critical parts to the rest of the industry.
