i need techtips

i'm in the processes of building a discord bot that gives techtips to those who ask it.

so i need techtips, lots of em...

it can be anything tech related, from stupid things all the way to actually useful things

i can't host the bot publicly right now but when i have a chance i will host it using a discord bot hosting service where users can submit the techtips themselves and allow you guys to add it to your own discord servers.

I would add general tips, like "Be sure to use RAM slots 2 and 4", "Don't forget to unlock the PCIE slot before removing your card" and "be careful when removing an AMD CPU cooler you don't rip out the AMD CPU".

Dont put two sticks of ram next two each other, space em out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless there is only two slots or you intend to use 4 sticks

Be careful with the CPU, you don't want to bend Dem pins do you?

1. Get balanced parts
2. Get an ssd with dram for boot drive
3. Dont be a fanboy
4. Make sure to use a good psu
5. Dust out your system every so often
6. Only upgrade when you feel like your performance is lacking, not because something better is available

I got a couple.

 

If your computer is power cycling, make sure to reset its BIOS before doing anything else.

 

Remember to buy a good quality Power Supply! Your computer's entire health depends on it.

 

Buying the latest and greatest will not always give you the best value. Look for last gen and used CPUs/GPUs if you want the best bang for buck.

 

Remember to upgrade your monitor if you're going to buy a High-End GPU!

 

Don't forget to turn on XMP on the BIOS to run your RAM at its rated speed.

 

Make sure to run your AIO radiators above the CPU/GPU block for best performance and noise!

 

Be calm. And ALWAYS back up your data.

 

Do NOT buy a Hyper 212 EVO. Buy the updated 212 RGB Black Edition, or a more recent alternative from another company.

 

Remember: gameplay is king.

don't blow up your computer with a shitty psu

 

don't follow the verge pc build guide

 

make sure your fans are in the correct orientation (mostly for AIOs)

 

try to use displayport when possible

The RX 570 is around the performance level of a GTX 1650. Though a used 580 for $120 is most likely a better option.

 

You or your friend can make a Thread in the New Builds and Planning sub to ask for general advice on a build at that budget
