If you already have a 9900K I wouldn't bother.

The answer is going to be no even if we had benchmarks.  At 4K you are always going to be GPU bound.

He's saying that for gaming what CPU you have doesn't really matter, since the GPU will be doing most of the work in 4K

If you had an i3-9100, your frame rates would be about the same at 4K.  That's why getting a high refresh rate 4K monitor is so stupid.

Gonna say no here. 

 

If it's only a couple percent difference, it's not worth a complete system swap imo.

 

So under 10%, not worth it.

Not always, SOME games, scale CPU requirments UP when rendering assets at higher resolutions.
Not always, but can't say 4K is easy on a 4C8T beast today either.... it drops 'below expectations' a LOT.
AVG is nice, Frametime stuttered dips are still ever present, less noticeable but they exist still at 4K, just hidden better than sub4K.

the 5800x is the worst deal out of the 4, the 5600x is 299, 33% more cores should be 399.

 

From what i've seen the 9900k to 5800x isn't big enough of an upgrade. I'm still waiting on the 5950x benchmarks though.
