Well I thought I would throw up my fans as the first item. I think I listed them at a reasonable price and have gotten a reasonable amount of hits but there have been no offers, not even for a single fan.

Well for yours personally I think that 12 bucks per fan is quite a bit high, especially saying that they are the OEM versions as well and do not have the rubber grommets or the nice aesthetics... Just IMO maybe like 6 bucks per fan would be a better price?

Hope I could help!

There are quite a ton of things that are ridiculously expensive for what they are.  That could be one reason :/  the 3970x that's 1350$ is ridiculous, I don't care if it's cherry picked or not, without pictures of stability that it's "cherry picked"   And even still, it's used, I don't care if the seal was only broken once.  There's no actual proof it hasn't been used.

I assume it was 12$ for all the fans @TheProfosist or 12$ per fan?

Well the LED ones are $17 no grommet and newegg had $4 of the purple ones the other week so thats what I did my pricing off of. The grommeted non LED ones are $20 on both newegg and amazon and I personally dont think grommets are worth what ~$13 which is what you basically saying since they can be picked up for $2-$3 individually for generic ones if you wanted.

If you haven't sold them, of even had offers, I think the market is telling you otherwise.

The LED ones are $5 more...but they also have an LED. Feature add.

I, personally, would pay the extra $8 for grommets. Not to mention the fact that it's new, comes with a warranty which yours does not, etc etc. All of these things add to a value loss when looking at a comparable used product.

Your fans would probably sell if priced around $8 a piece.

Paypal only charges 2.9% + 0.30. Doesn't even equate to a cent in this case, but for future reference.

Yes but they're not brand new in fresh packaging, I can't imagine anyone would pay over like 6-8$ each for them especially since they're OEM versions

already talked to the seller about that CPU actually

nope read the description $12 per fan or if you get all 6 $60 (or best offer) I didnt think it was right of me to have 6 different listings.

guys lets start price fixing .....

no price fixing but fixing a listing and it doesnt necessarily have to be the price. What if the description or pics are just poor?

Lol what'd you say to him about the CPU?  It's a bit ridiculous to ask 200$ over a BRAND new product with DOA coverage etc, just to say it's "Cherry picked" with no actual proof of it's OC'ing capabilities. And even if there was pictures, I would still think of the "ok he's extremely OC'd it, hows to know how much damage has been done to the chip"

I dropped the price a bit $10 per fan of $48 for all ($8 per fan) still OBO

I think 3.5 might have been from international selling I forget but ive dont a bunch of selling across the internet but ive changed it to 2.9 as I can eat the $0.30. Also just looked at international its now 3.9% so i added that in. I understand how to price items though this is a bit different from what im used to selling but I dont want to just to give them away.

Some prices seem quite high and then adding on the buyer pays shipping is a bit extreme. Used is used guys, doesnt matter how much it's been used.

he should post more info on it to be truthful. but I told he shouldnt expect that much even its a new cherry picked one because X series CPUs are like super cars as soon as they get old or the new one comes out their worth like half. If you look on say ebay a 4960X is only worth $100 to $150 more than a 4930K used. i know his inst used but its good thing to use as a baseline as like the minimum.

About a month ago I sold my 2 7970's here.   I bought them for about 300$ each from E-Bay.   This was before the price hike.   I could have sold them for a lot more then I bought them for.  But guess what  I sold them for 300 each again.   People just want there full price back.  Lucky for me I got mine, but if you pay for something like fans or a case and you are trying to get your money back its not going to happen unless its unopened. And even then  this is a place for bros to give each other deals.  Don't try and scalp people lol

Thats how its always worked anywhere that I have sold as many places like this are international or even within the US prices differ greatly unless you say use flat rate but shipping is usually a bit more than half of flat rate usless your using a small box or padded envelope.

Also I nor any of us are stores or chain's so its not like we get a break on shipping or your buying other bigger stuff off of us that will compensate for the shipping money we may have lost on you with the small things. I believe even Linus charges shipping in the store and my guess its for the same reasons.

Who's scalping who? Truthfully I wouldnt be surprised if the person you sold them to just went and sold them on eaby as I have seen that happen before and have been on forums with that issue.

I dont think this is a place for bros to give each other deals but a place to avoid ebay and all of its BS. Also a place to sell to hopefully more trust worthy people that are like minded. Maybe give a small deal here and there like hey ill give you an extra $3 off cause you asked.

Also I dont just want this thread to be about my stuff. I created it for anyone who had questions about their items or listings as I have seen tons that were expired. Many of these were listed in the first couple days after it came out.

My recommendations:

1 - lots of pictures

2 - be VERY descriptive. The more you can add, the better

3 - Add in your heatware id - by starting to grow that reputation, people can see that you are an honest person to deal with

4 - Is a "best offer" an option? If it is, indicate that in the description. Some users may not feel comfortable offering less then your asking, but if you have OBO at least you additional options.

4 - Be realistic in pricing. One month or a year old, I am not paying anywhere near full price. Typically, if I cannot get it for half of what I pay new, I walk away. If you are getting no interest, lower your prices. I figure some cash in your pocket is better then holding out for some unrealistic price and having equipment just sitting there.

Also, don't take things personal. If someone tries to low ball you, ignore and move on. Don't get it into with the user...

US versus Canada - shipping charges can be an issue. Also, most warranties on electronics do NOT transfer between our two countries. Sucks. So be aware when buying...

They are now down to around that price any cheaper and it wont be worth the shipping on them I am sad to say.
