Should I get a core i7 10700K or Ryzen 7 3700x for an RTX 3080 build

Hey guys,

I am planning on building a PC with the new RTX 3080 and was wondering what CPU to buy. I am crossing between the Ryzen 7 3700x or the i7 10700K. I game mostly but also want to stream and video edit. What CPU should I buy.

what resolution do you game at?

if it's high res like 1440p or 4K then maybe 3700x if it's a lot cheaper for you to get, since you wont see much of a difference anyways

intel is better for high FPS, in more CPU bound scenarios.

but consider waiting for oct 8th Zen 3 announcement at least.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

If you plan on doing 1440p 144hz or 4k 60+ go with the ryzen cpu and the 3080. If your at 1080p the 3070 should be fine.

No cpu mobo or ram atm

If u need it now and arent on a tight budget. 10700k. If budget matters then 3700x since its like 130 usd cheaper. If you can wait a month or two then ryzen 4000 something.
