Watching that gun wobble in the intro was scary.  There’s a reason they make kids guns, and it’s not just that two finger trigger pull. Was a story moderately recently about some Europeans?(French? I don’t recall) who thought that one of the tourist attractions of the US was gun ranges where you could just shoot machine guns. A point perhaps.  Few places on earth it’s legal to even do. Any way they gave this little girl an uzi or something because it was small. And when she shot the thing the rising recoil flipped the gun all the way up and around and stitched the range supervisor. He was dead dead.

They were there to shoot full auto. It was the whole point.  An uzi makes for a really big stable pistol that’s basically a carbine if you have a decent stock for it, but as a sub gun it’s small and jumpy.  I’m not calling it a good choice.  I feel worse for the little kid that shot him than the guy who died. Either way it’s too much gun for an elementary school child. Kids need to learn how to shoot, but combat weapons are big heavy things, and aren’t needed for the kind of teaching that needs to be done. Giving someone too much gun is a time honored yuk yuk even so far as giving someone a ridiculously hot loaded shotgun shell because I guess for some people lies are funnier when they cause pain.  It’s not good gun safety though.

Yes, I own a full auto Uzi. That thing likes to climb, a lot. It's not like an MP5, which has excellent sights, roller-delayed blowback, and a good stock. This ends up making the MP5 much more controllable than an Uzi. 

 

However, the Uzi has a grip safety, which basically prevents the weapon from firing unless you have a vice-like grip on it. She must have just not let go or loosened up at all on that thing for him to get shot. He also had to have been in a dangerous spot, too. 

 

This is why you should NEVER, EVER give a kiddo a gun unless you know that they can handle it. People, not just kids, need to get comfortable with firearms and develop proper technique and safety to avoid stuff like this. Responsibility for the guy's death lands squarely on the person who decided to give a child a machine gun, not the kid. Everyone should have known better. 

 

There is a reason that most people's first gun is a 10/22. The little .22 caliber has basically no recoil, so it's good to just learn good habits on without having to worry about recoil or loud noises. I can remember the first gun I shot was my father's M1 Carbine, in elementary school many years ago. However at that point I already had gun safety drilled into my head and I knew how to be safe with guns. That meant that by the time I got the Uzi I was more than experienced enough to handle it. I'd be willing to bet that kid had no or very little previous firearms experience, and didn't know how to be safe with firearms.

Seeing that reminds me of that one Forgotten Weapon's video on the Dardick Model 1500, a Magazine fed revolver that uses triangular, plastic .38 special cartridges, so that it can hold 15 rounds. That was incredible for the time. All while being very cheap to manufacture too.

Most much larger)  Where I come from that’s legally a hallway or a storage area.  Not livable space.  I notice the dude mentioned 3 units but there were only two in the video and the second didn’t have its price mentioned.  Bad cut I think.  I rent a unit for $860 (which is below market) that is positively palatial compared to that one.  Appliances are older but better and there are more of them. The only room even close to the same size is the bathroom
