Is it bad to put your PC on the floor instead of putting it on the top of the table/desk?

Please enlighten me on this one as I don't know if I should really put my PC on the table or on the floor as I always see people put their PCs on top of the table while I put mine on the floor becasue I have limited desk space.

Its not bad for the PC as long as you aren't choking off any fans on the PSU or other parts of the case with carpet.  The only real disadvantage of putting the PC on the floor would be more dust getting into the PC.

It's fine, as long as it's not sitting on a thick carpet. Basically you want the computer to be able to breathe, to get air through the bottom. If it sits on a thick carpet that blocks the vent holes, that's not good.

you can put it any where if it safe (dry, no ant, bugs ...etc), the point of putting it on table is better air flow and showup

As long as there is no carpet blocking the bottom vents like the PSU, you should be fine. Dust will build up a little quicker, but other than that, no real drawbacks.

I keep my PC under a desk. It's on a piece of wood (a removeable self from a bookcase) so it's not against the carpet directly for the reasons others have mentioned.

It's same for the table, the knee can accidentally kick it if the table isn't enough high when you want to check the foot for example.

 

Same for the head, it can accidentally kick it after checking under the table.

i did a research in here.
Most pepople on this forum had it on the desk, most people that are not techiez they have it under the desk.
Except if you have a pet that will fill yoyr fans with hair, the reason that people put pc on desk is because of the RGB inside
I have it under the desk because first i m an adoult enough for RBG, second because i want to have less noise in any case, and less distracting lights reflected on my Display

having RGB on components are impractical from me but it is ok on peripheral like mic and keyboard as it is thing i see.

I also have my PC under my desk. It would look massive and cluttered on my desk, with all the cables coming out the back, and it wouldn't even fit properly, even though I have quite a large desk (it would need to be on the left of me, while the side panel is also on the left). Under my desk there is way more space, so it's nicely tucked away in the corner, where you don't really see it. I've never kicked it as it is so far away, while I have many times accidentally hit my monitors.  No carpet here, so no issue with that.

How about middle ground, not on table not on floor... it might be hard to reach the PC under the table.

It will run a little cooler on the floor, but it will turn into a vacuum.

For my part, my 2 PC are under the desk because I don't think good ideal to put my 2 big PC on the desk, they are really heavy

I used my PC on the floor for 2 years and the dust accumulation and salt was unbearable. So make sure to clean regularly

I live in a sea coast city, and that sea salt is terrible for electronics and cars

Not enough. I have 13,800 lumen flashlight (it lights up more than 30 meters). It warms but not strong enough. My old HDD 15k RPM SCA is hotter than my flashlight

it was to warm up my feet since my old setup was in the dinning room with no heat

So how could I fit a desktop tower in here? I have to give up speakers or mouse real estate?
That desk is 1.40m (4.6 feet)
Anyway, I think under desk, or even on a different room, with cable extenders, is ideal
anyway that is ,my mini research here
