Can i achive a 240hz refresh rate on 2070 super

I want to ask that i am planing a build with 2070 super and a asus rog 240hz g-sync monitor with r9 3900x .So will this build be able to run fortnite and apex on 240hz monitor. If not so can i downclock the 240hz monitor to 144hz .

yes but depends on resolution, with displayport (HDMI can't do 240Hz) and 1080p sure, but for 1440p nope.

You can try 1440p 144 though..

My point is Fortnite has an 80 degree FOV, I don't know how much that refreshrate would help

1.) Yes you can but definitely dont expect maxing out settings in games.

2.) There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to get a 240Hz monitor and run it at 144Hz.

3.) If your FPS will be anywhere between 30-240FPS then the monitor will run at the same Hz as your FPS because of G-Sync, thats the whole point of adaptive refresh rate.

so if i run on 240hz there will be no effect on the gameplay

If you run at 240Hz and you will have G-Sync enabled and your game will run at 180FPS then the monitor will downclock itself automaticaly to 180Hz to match the 180FPS to remove the tearing.

 

No, there will be no effect on the gameplay, this is how its supposed to work.

When I filter for GPU with HDMI 2.0 I get 450 results... 449 with HDMI 2.0b

Nah you had the right idea, but just remembered a bit wrong. There aren't gpus with HDMI 2.1, which has existed for a long time and enables 4k 120hz, but gpu makers for some reasons don't put it in their gpus.

But 1080p 240hz is very doable with the current 2.0b.

Hz isn’t FPS so yes. You can use the monitor as intended.
