Double check - is 650w enough?

fastfishy2
Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

That system will pull about 350 watts.

A good quality 550 watt PSU will power almost any gaming rig money can buy.

I’ve run this setup through several different calculators and I think I’m fine but my setup is as follows:

Ryzen 5 3600 4ghz not OC’ing

2x 8gb DDR4-3200

Asus Prime B450 Plus mobo

4 case fans

RTX 2070 Super

my power supply is the EVGA Supernova 650 G3 80+ gold, and I’m just wondering seeing as I just upgraded from a 1660S to a 2070S if it should be enough for a stable system.

thanks.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yes more than enough even

But I would maybe suggest a 5700xt

Cheaper and performs the same

Even 450W is enough but the EVGA G3 are notoriously problematic. Avoid them like the plague

Since he allready has one, no point changing it.

Its got overload issues, providing it has a functioning fan you wont run unto issues.

Even with the looks that 30 series will be more power hungry? I just got a 650w Super Flower Leadex III Gold and then 30 series the leaks came out so Im wondering (since I wanna upgrade with the next gen) if I should go for something higher.

Yeah that would make sense but the table that got leaked indicated upwards of 300 watts for some GPUs...

True, I doubt ill go for that level of GPU. But lets say I was, would 650 still be enough?

Yeah youre right, Im just scared I bought the wrong thing... I just plugged in the most power hungry system I could think of on outervisions PSU calculator with a 10900k and a radeon xii and it says load wattage is 575W (with recocomended PSU wattage 625)  so I think im just going to trust the 650W will be enough.
