Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

This event has ended and I recommend you guys head over to the Folding Community Board for any general folding conversation.

Aye, I've been going pretty solid, as well.

Also, what are the 'Public/Beta Jobs'? I take it the servers with 0/0 are throwing them out as fast as they come in?

From here

Spoiler

When beginning new simulation projects, they are carefully rolled out using a Quality Assurance (QA) protocol which involves internal testing by members of Pande Group, then testing by the Beta Team, release under Advanced Methods, before a final full deployment across all of Folding@home. This gradual rollout is to prevent problematic WUs and software from getting released to the public and to allow donors to have some choice in terms of bleeding edge donations. The Advanced Method option tells the client to request WUs from projects which have past most — but not all — of their stability testing. Please use this option carefully, and report any problems you encounter to the appropriate section of the Folding Support Forum.

Every server do not distribute beta projects...

My 16-thread ESXi deployments have been getting pretty constant assignments since Wednesday. My 8-thread i7 machines are still hit or miss.

They would have been given a small number as a test bed to make sure it was all okay! Don't worry, the WUs will flow! This is standard practice as far as I know.

Well it looks like EOC is just as susceptible as we are to dodgy data!

We have 11 per cent of the total users F@H, but 35 per cent of the total active users. We have a nice 80 per cent of our team's users active.

Yeh, I figured that bit. Just curious why some servers have so many public jobs. Wasn't sure if those were actively being folded jobs, already queued jobs, or for specific Cause Preferences.

I'm still running on my GPU. I have gotten a message on my web controller about using my CPU, I think. BUT I gotta draw the line at making me crazy. I can't use my CPU because I live my life via my PC rig.

I'm folding with both my GPUs and my CPU. The CPU is using 30 threads and saving 2 threads for the OS and whatever else. Runs quite smooth.

I am in a room that gets slammed for most of the day with sunlight that raises the temp about 15 degrees C. My CPU temp, I have an air cooler, also leaps up to high limits. So I'm not too comfortable putting my CPU through that.

Most of my systems have been so delayed in getting WU's with failure to be offered anything by the servers that they're waiting over 2 hours to try again now.  RIP points.  :(

It looks like my client is only ever trying to connect to Missouri and an AWS…and failing most of the time to get anything.

Are there some options I can/need to set to make it check other servers, or is that what I'm stuck with for CPU WUs?
