LTT Folding Team's Emergency Response to Covid-19

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

This event has ended and I recommend you guys head over to the Folding Community Board for any general folding conversation.

Spinning down my two least useful CPU-only rigs.  They aren't producing enough anyways.  Between the two of them vs the two desktop towers (or parts rig for one) the rigs with GPUs produce 20x (incl. CPUs) as much.  Gonna save a bit of power and avoid toasting them.

Guess thats..... the power of the internet and a BIG bunch of nerds/gamers sitting at home and having nothing to do :D

Lets see how far this goes! For me personally the supply of WUs is pretty decent lately and I am finally able to pump up dat PPD!

I think when that goes online we're just going to crash it and Linus will likely start crying...

and yes, I know how overkill linus likes to do things. I've seen his whole room water cooling series

19 attempts over the day and timer is at 4 hours now. I know I could spam refresh it but I wanna leave it as it is.

Fair enough.  If you really want to refresh it at some point I'd recommend restarting the computer vs the buttons, but until then happy waiting.

As long as you've read the first post, fully, then not much more info really, I expect your log on the client is actually saying its trying to find you a work unit but not getting one.

Well...

1. Comment: If you have no clue what Folding@Home is, doing some research on the project isn't wrong, so neither is being skeptical, if you combine it with due research.

2. Comment: Anyone who takes that comment seriously fits into my narrow thinking of what fox "news" viewers are like.

3. Comment: Again, lacking information in itself isn't bad/reprehensible, not doing research on the thing you lack information on and basing your opinion on such uninformed "knowledge" is the problem.
