new GPU a VERY tight fit. And a little bent?

K i a r a

Hey.
so I just got my GTX 1660Ti.

and I notice it was a very very tight fit. Is this an issue?
I definitely know it looked into place on the right side. With the locking thing holding it.

also I notice the part where you screw it in. Is sideways a little.
But I can bend it a small bit to get the screws in.
If you look at the middle screw hole.

Looks good to me. As long as it holds it in place you're fine. AND HEY! The package arrived, no need to worry anymore lol.

Not ideal but as long as the PCI-E slot isn't being overly strained then it should be alright.

GPU clearance from the Chipset heat sink is normal. Same with the GPU holes being slightly misaligned. The metal is thin enough to easily bend it to where you need to go.

Well imo this doesn't look good (especially for the contacts long term and these seem pretty finicky anyways) but others say it's good so?

Remembers me of that rx 580 I had which was similarly "bent"  and it wasn't good at all... worked but very low fps and ran very hot and I always thought it's maybe because of the weird fit (it was also slanted quite a bit)  :(

My 1060 has none of this,  not even slanted slightly.

Idk honestly! :/

Did you test it yet?

How would the fit do anything to performance (unless airflow was hampered)?

It ran hot becasue it's a 580...

contacts

I mean I don't know but I think a slightly damaged or not proper contact could cause all kinds of issues,  it's why sometimes "reseating" a GPU helps fixing issues.

And as such a "slightly bent" GPU has to be seen as defective even if it somehow "works" and it could also long term damage the motherboard due to uneven strain on the PCI slot, hence I returned the thing.
