today i was on the streets, some kids went by and they were talking about games, pubg mobile and fortnite to be precise.

they were laughing at one of them who plays pubg on pc, them mocked him as boomer, because he is a daddy's good boy and dont have a "good phone"that plays pubg.

it would seems that, playing pc games is a boomer thing.

 

so what are boomer things? wearing socks and sandals? driving a internal combustion engine car? shitposting on forums instead of instagram or what else?

People born between 1946 and 1964. Its the generation before generation X. Thats really all there is to it, with the meme it has been twisted and warped to mean a multitude of different things but its really just a term for people born in a certain period

yep its referring to more of a type of person. the type of people that goes you kids and your technology always on your phones when i was young we hit each other with bricks for entertainment. or the older generation that always likes to complain about the younger generation like you kids never save and at the same time you kids save too much and are ruining the economy.

It's a combination of that and they're not interested in having any dialogue. They don't want to hear opposing opinions, usually out of fear (or realization) that they can't support their own.

alot of you disappoint me, as techys you should be more savvy.  Nowadays its a joke-insult thats lost most of its meaning, that can mean whatever it wants to, so long as said group decides X who is being made fun of is simply acting like an old person and can then shoat "ok boomer" at them.  A husk of what it once was.

The jokes a bit older, had more finesse, and originally came to popularity due to a wojak drawn as a "30 year old boomer." It was never used as a serious insult but was more often used, even by 16-20 year olds, as a comfy self-affirmation of their tastes or condition in life.  For the absolute laymen, in some ways the original character was a bit like Hank Hill, but at the same time a reflection of the people popularizing the meme, as if Hank Hill was 20-30 years old that played vidjea games, watched anime, drove fast classic cars, and traded crypto etc
