I do it for fun, plus my computers on 24/7 anyways so...

 

I was hoping to have bought a new GPU, sadly after a trip to Montreal I can't till Jan at least unless something comes up today/tomorrow...

I guess I've found my rival for this year...

We will see about that. I'm still about 1m ppd behind you right now with almost nothing left up my sleeve. But might try to run the laptop 24/7 but that might be a challenge since it is also my main work computer and I do have to travel around to clients and stuff from time to time.

I'm going to only mine with gt 1030 at day, and mine with 2080ti at night. Power too expensive

Is there really that much of a power consumption difference between the 2? Or are you going based on what the boxes say? My 2 gpu's with uncountable HDDs is consuming about 350 watts per hour.

I've activated 2070 (part time cos gaming), 1650, 1080Ti, 1070 so far. Will monitor house temps and decide if I can do more from there.

True, i will look into it. I will probably put the 1030 in my server, and let it run there. My main pc I will just shut it down during day time

That spot you were asking about actually looks a bit like corrosion in the picture.  Possibility of a ruptured heat pipe in that spot?  That would mess with the paste in all kinds of ways in that location, and make sense as to why you see such a big difference on that card.

 

If it were true, I would assume the couple drops are gone now though, and so anything you got from the re-paste should be stable (though slightly higher than the other card if they are matching cards), as it is basically just some copper heat transfer plate now instead of also being a vapor chamber.
