Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

Fk me in the ass guys, I was wondering how my 2080TI runs so hot, it turns out last week when I install it in my new case, I put my push-pull fan in wrong direction, resulting both pushing air in on opposite side of the radiator....

I'm now 200% convinced I'm dumber than a rock

do push-pull offer much of an advantage

My total estimated PPD is 1.84M... if only I could get JANK working, I'll be over 2M. Silly people on ebay, sending me a kaby lake CPU when the motherboard's BIOS isn't up for it.

Ehhhhhhh my quadro 4000s are about 200 watts each getting 16k ppd. I get 750k Alone from a single card in my other rig

... Definitely not worth it

Gonna see if my gtx 250 or gtx 260s give better numbers

Or i got 1 9700 GT

I was under the impression that you needed at least a Fermi (GTX 4xx) GPU for folding to work?

We all have rough days. lol. But hey now you know your 2080ti can handle it with terrible air flow.

Hey now it runs 56 C at full folding load.

Yah I put my hand on fan, legit feels hot air coming out from the side, and center is cool air. Almost had a heart attack when I realise what is going on.

Ended up modding a case after volt modding and overclocking 2 quadro 4000s, Had to install a 200mm fan in the side panel they were reaching like 90C before top at like 75C now but  they just dont produce enough, I can stably crank the core clock to 780 mhz and the memory a bit farther than before

Well, is it detected as anything?

If not I guess you gotta figure out if bios can detect them.

DDU and reinstall drivers is the first port of call imo

I feel unease running 2080TI at this power 24/7, maybe I will just get it RMA'd after folding month

Ways to allow said GPU to run 24/7:

buy LED light bulbs if you are using 13W or esp 60W bulbs

remove any unneeded HDDS or accessories

underclock on the CPU/s.

Not sure the power costs down where you are but my 1070 is consuming about 125 watts, considering your gpu is 2x more powerful than it the power draw is about equal too. During the prime time I can see how having a unit consuming 1 kilowatt every 4 hours can become expensive.

ok, so i looked closely(er) and msi afterburner is detecting 2 GPUj's, however it only knows what the 1060 is, and it is showing as the first card?

Edit: going to try geforce experience based driver re-install first, im kinda lazy

I've got them both 150 over on the GPU clock.  Not sure why one is running slower than the other. We'll see if they crash.

Just repasted the gtx 1080, which moved the temperature down from throttling (83) to 74. with a much higher boost clock.

Took the time to clean the case of dust and put an extra fan in, also changed to the cablemod cable kit, which took a bit of time to get right. What do you guys think of the setup?

1007410120_2019-10-0102_12_11.thumb.jpg.12a9c42521ea3d72f3a9cc87f96f1d40.jpg1931866028_2019-09-3022_27_01.thumb.jpg.c6666f4147740fbe3c62ce98ce1c54fe.jpg

Now both cards are folding with great speeds, without being too hot, both currently operating about 1900MHz without OC.

which results in a lmuch needed lower noise floor.

Still have to figure out how to turn those damn lights off on the rtx 2060 though. MSI gaming app does not see it, as it does the other gtx 1080.

Now i just have to overcome the failed WU penalty to achieve max qrp again. I had two failed WUs right before i decided to take the system apart.

The boosting issue on the rtx seems to have fixed itself with a reboot. So it might have been a driver issue.
