I got a second hand IKEA Galant (corner L-Desk) for 15 euros, it has a bit of sun fading on the top, but I don't see that because of a desk mat. Next to that one I have an IKEA Malm which I got for 20 euros second hand.

 

Really either would be great, just depends on the room you have and room you need.

Ikea Linnmon tabletop (the biggest one, 78" IIRC) with Alex drawers on both sides. It's an excellent desk besides the fact that it scratches easily which can be fixed with a black Sharpie

I believe I am using the same thing, mine is bowed in at the middle because of 3 monitors and my anger issues. The height on this is perfect though, highly suggested.

Two home made desk. 250cm x 80cm x 5cm oak table tops with aluminum frames (which was a bitch to weld) and some random legs I bought at a DIY store.

Does the job really well! You'd probably be able to find an equivalent at a Goodwill or garage sale for super cheap.

This top that I've put a clear coat of varnish on it for "waterproofing" along with this underframe from IKEA.
 

If I were to redo it, I'd probably just get plywood or something like that from Homedepot, add an edgeband/tape to it, maybe varnish it so that the edge tape stays permanently...

As for the legs, either use 2 adjustable legs on one side + a file cabinet on the other, or just another underframe from IKEA.

The only difference between that and my desk is that my desk is slightly darker and has the drawers on the left side rather than the right.

Man thats a really nice setup. Except for the keyboard tray, which in my mind is an abomination upon everything good in the world.

 

Right now I'm using and old but functional desk my parents got me when I was like 10. It's 150*75*80 cm w*d*h

 

I'm planning to upgrade to a 180-200 cm wide adjustable desk in a few years.

Oh yeah, the keyboard tray is controversial, it seems to be everybody drawback on this design, but i like, it means i can keep my arms in a confortable position and not have to use a monitor stand.

Anyway, its in the hands of a good friend right now, he restored it completely, changed the springs, changed the cable and nut and bolt moded it, its better than ever!
