Apple launches Battery Replacement Program for some 13" MacBook Pros

Not really sure how an expanding battery is not a safety issue, but ok, sure.....

 

Not much else to this story other than Apple has provided a serial number checker to see if your Mac is eligible. My MacBook Pro is, though I have had it for over a year and if the battery was going to fail it probably would have done so by now. 

 

You can get your Mac serviced at an Apple Store, an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or mail it to the Apple Repair Center. Service may take 3-5 days

 

This program is good for 5 years from the date of purchase, and because of that I think I will hold onto my Mac until the battery wears down so I can get a new keyboard and battery as the machine gets older which can probably help me flip it for something a few years from now. 

 

(According to some users when people have gone in for a keyboard replacement they have also gotten a battery replacement as well which makes me assume that the two parts are "one unit" very difficult to repair, so I would assume the inverse would be true)

no, the keyboard is just very annoying and difficult to replace and remove.

I watched that video recently it sucks for the person that has to tear all those rivets out, i've taken apart a macbook for keyboard replacement a bunch of tiny screws that weren't all the same size sure beats nearly destroying the top chassis,and of course Apple can get away with cheap rivets and glue instead of screws lol.

Although good that Apple is replacing defective batteries for free, not sure why they couldn't do that with their phones.
