Same here, but I want something 40" plus in the ultrawide category.

I have a feeling I'll be waiting at least a couple years.

there is the Asus PG35VQ but it's still speculation

It's just my old monitor. Right now, it only gets used if I need to recappitate my NAS or if I decide to reconfig my Ubuntu server and use it again. My main trio of monitors are 3 different 27" panels. A 24" Cintiq Pro might become a 4th.

Though I do consider throwing either my 7750 or 7770 back in my rig and using the 19"er/

Ok good :P Though different panels make my OCD senses tingle.

It's a 1440p 144Hz Gsync predator in the middle of a 1080p 60Hz ASUS MX279 and a 1080p 75Hz Freesync curved Samsung.

They aren't color calibrated to match perfectly either.

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

Honestly though, what can run 4K at 144Hz?

Shouldnt be too much of a problem. If you can afford 3k for a display, then you probably have 2x 1080ti's.

I can even run 144hz at 5k with them in Overwatch e.g. :)

Are these even proper HDR? I keep seeing reviews of HDR monitors and most companies apparently have a different version of HDR; resulting is different quality between them all.

Even though the price doesn't surprise me at all, still... that price :| I don't find it terribly unreasonable though all things considered. It will be out of my range for some time, but it's cool to see they're finally coming.

At these prices then they'll have to be the most perfect thing you've ever laid eyes on! EVER!! Even better than Bo Derek in her prime....*sprung* !

Actually it is. I had a 120hz for years and now have a 75hz ultra wide. Pixel density is where its at for me.

Yes, they are proper HDR. Not the fake HDR Dell was trying to push a while ago.

Also, these are not just any HDR. They are DisplayHDR 1000 certified. That's the highest rating Vesa currently does.

These are the creme de la creme even in the "super high end monitor" space. There will be cheaper/"lower end" 4K 144Hz G-Sync monitors released in the future. Hopefully soon... I want DisplayHDR 600 monitors. I don't need a backlight powerful enough to burn my retinas out from across the room.

It says it covers the DCI-P3 color space, so how much of REC. 2020 does it cover? If that has even been released yet.

Fantastic to hear. I myself would want HDR 600. I run my monitors at round 10-15% brightness anyway.

Hoping for a nice Ultrawide variant then.

Just to be clear, they likely won't cover 100% DCI-P3. The display certification they're getting requires 90% coverage so they'll likely be somewhere in the 90-95% range

That also doesn't directly translate into a coverage of Rec. 2020, but since that covers about 50% more color space than DCI-P3, it's safe to guess that they'll probably have somewhere in the range of like ~55-70% Rec. 2020 coverage.

Edit: The Predator X27 is 96% DCI-P3 for example.

I know, and that's why I was asking if it had specified that it covered 100% of DCI-P3. As far as REC. 2020 I know it doesn't translate as the spectrum it covers is much larger DCI-P3. I would jump on these for work if they fully covered it though. I have two Z31x monitors for work, they run at 60hz and have 80% rec 2020 coverage. If it covers at least DCI-P3 with 144hz that'd be awesome.

Now if only these monitor manufactures would build with more 4096x2160 panels.

I would buy one at this price, if it had a 5 year warranty with a 0 dead/defect pixel.

Bit much for me, I'll wait a generation while GPU performance goes up, price goes down. Alternatively, could they get the price down significantly if they were non-HDR? 4k 144 Hz G-sync alone would suffice for my needs for some time I think. I don't need best of the best, I want good enough high end, like 1080Ti vs. Titan Xpp.

Why - I repeat, WHY?? - are these thing only 27"?

That would actually be a tiny bit smaller than my current 2560x1440 monitor. And yes, I WOULD like a higher pixel count - but not THAT high. I don't game with my nose against the screen ... If they were making them at 30" - maybe even 32" - I would be daydreaming about selling a body part or two.

As is ... I'll just hold onto that liver a little longer, thanks.

As I've seen in the comments, I'm not all to surprised that the monitors are sitting anywhere at or near the USD $2.5-3K mark, all things considered (specs, technology, certifications, etc).

Another thing to factor in is manufacturing, tolerances, and QA all have a cost. Any panel assembly able to do 4K 144 Hz no problem is pretty rare out of a sizable batch of panels.

I still insist upon seeing a 31.5-32-inch 4K 144 Hz display, as any 4K display below 31 inches I feel is awfully small.

If you're gaming in a dark room, you're doing yourself a bad favor to your eyes. I game in an adequately lit room with my 32" display set up around 24 inches from my face. My monitor's brightness is typically around 50-75%, but I do sometimes set it to 100% for color work purposes.

I really need to get myself a colorimeter and calibrate my displays ?

I never game in the dark, or work in the dark. 50-75% is just too bright for me. My main monitor is at 27% at the moment; and plenty of direct light.

I was expecting a launch price of about $1200... I guess that’s not gonna happen...

Btw, are the new Turing GPUs expected to support 4K at 100 FPS? Does anyone know?

A GeForce GTX 670 can do 4K 100 FPS with older titles.

So no, not going to happen when there's games out there that pushes graphics hardware.
