Got a whole lot of camera-related gear, but let's first talk about this.

IMG_2740.thumb.JPG.2be6bc6919d3c29a88b8dd41a299ae37.JPG

It's a wriststrap called the Peak Design Cuff designed for cameras ranging from big DSLRs to compact point-and-shoots.

IMG_2739.thumb.JPG.5f25a34721dc1b36850f95ef3330dc76.JPG

I went with a wriststrap because I hated how cumbersome conventional neck/shoulder straps proved to be in my daily use, sometimes getting dangled up on tripods and other times just becoming a chore to store. The Cuff solves many of my issues mostly because it's small and fits snugly onto my wrist, so I can use my camera as freely as I want to with the added security of it being attached to some part of me.

IMG_2736.thumb.JPG.762ed3627eaa62006d91be43a86d06a8.JPG

My favorite part though is that it can easily be detached, leaving only anchor points that I can then reattach either the Cuff or other straps with the Peak Design anchor on them (they do sell the anchors separately, so you can put them on the strap you already have). It also folds up to become a pretty solid bracelet.

Aye, I shot video of 2 hiking trips and a road trip over the summer with a dslr, bought a bunch of different straps and accessories but only ended up using the $5 wrist strap I got on amazon.

Delivery.thumb.jpg.e808144ed534f672a1dfbdb07005613b.jpg

So, a package arrived at my doorstep. What's in it?

Delivery_1.thumb.jpg.c0dc953ee1d123157fe24f9b4be7d5a0.jpgDelivery_2.thumb.jpg.45c935949436d7e05b710d2cd809983e.jpg

Well....it's a box.....with a heap of bubble wrap around it.

Delivery_3.thumb.jpg.7c0fe49c06b748dcec7e274a04135eb0.jpg

Even MORE bubble wrap!

Delivery_4.thumb.jpg.e4f526a01d59362d6f3d3694d7f46ed3.jpg

I didn't order a water pump.....hang on.....

Delivery_5.thumb.jpg.05f2bf564742c9456c66e349908829a6.jpgDelivery_6.thumb.jpg.067c3ad70792b7e28d9972fcefc995cf.jpg

So, yeah. If you can't bear to see that overly cheesy unboxing, the lens that I ordered just arrived not too long ago. It's the Sony SEL18135 lens for the Sony APS-C E-Mount with a 27-202.5mm equivalent FoV and a variable f/3.5-f/5.6 aperture. This lens was released at the beginning of this year as another standard zoom lens option aside from the Sony SELP18105G and the Sony/Zeiss SEL1670Z, both of which are around 4 years of age at this point.

Delivery_7.thumb.jpg.27839f25b32bcbc4adfee266c8fa79fd.jpg

Funnily enough, all the shots you saw were shot on another SEL18135, although that one was on loan from a dad's friend, who has my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN that I loaned to him in exchange.

If you were asking why the lens came in a box made for a car engine's water pump, I ordered a "white box" unit, meaning that this lens was originally part of a camera kit (my guess is a Sony a6500 + SEL18135 kit) but the person who purchased said kit only wanted the camera body and not the lens. As such, the lens is removed from the kit and sold separately at a significant discount. It still maintains the original manufacturer's warranty and is still pretty much brand-new.

It costs a shade over $400, which is actually a really good price considering that retail units go for $600+, especially since it's practically a brand-new lens.

And wanna know how much bubble wrap was used in total?

Pre-ordered the Creative SXFI amp some three weeks ago, just arrived last night, even came with a free Aurvana SE headphone, always a plus!? After trying out the Aurvana, which I found to be too fuzzy, I'm putting the SXFI amp thru its pace with my HD600, sounds better though it was with the Aurvana profile, will try other profiles.

Replacement battery incl. tools for my Galaxy S6. I really like the phone and it still is in pristine condition, but from the latest measurements, the battery has gone from 2550mAh down to ~1400mAh resulting in ~10h of use :D I usually charge it at work in the afternoon so it still somewhat "gets me through the day". However, battery replacement for the S6 seem to be a real pain in the a** (as for most modern-ish phones) - wish me luck ?GnkSGgbuXZu3TbZO.medium
