I love the 2021 f 150 's interior. I like the cybertruck too. If the ford f150 ev had 500 + miles of range i would choose ford. Curious to know what you would.

Probably the Cybertruck. Tesla's a step ahead in terms of adapting to EVs and semi-autonomous functions. And frankly, I like that the Cybertruck's design is polarizing. The electric F-150 will look nice in a conventional way, but there's something to be said for a truck that gets people talking (even if they hate it) and makes you feel like you're in a sci-fi movie.

Yeah I can agree on that. The only reason I chose the ford f 150 because I can sleep flat in it :)

The F150 is the most popular selling truck in America and I think world maybe. I would pick the cyber truck countless times over the F150. But honestly the new hummer doesn't look half bad at all

The cybertruck is superior to the ford. you have to remember that tesla is about 10 years ahead of all their competition when it comes to battery tech and everything in the vehicle.

 

Also the charging network, there is tesla superchargers freaking everywhere but the ford would require the use of less common chargers like electrify america which cost more than supercharging and are also less commonplace.

 

I've driven almost 100k miles in my model S and never once have i been concerned that i'll run out of juice. But last week i was out riding my harley and i flipped the tank to reserve and for then next 30 miles i was doing the oh shit oh shit oh shit, until i found a gas station.

Honestly looks wise, I'd choose the new Hummer EV - it looks modern, but with enough edge and uniqueness to it to make it still stand out.

 

The Cybertruck looks awesome on paper - and Tesla has a track record of delivering (eventually) - but it just looks so dumb. And you would only need to make a few small alterations to make it look less dumb.

 

Electric F-150? I don't know. It ticks a lot of the right boxes, but we'll see how it actually turns out. Tech wise the Cybertruck is probably miles ahead, especially for the Powertrain (has anyone caught up to Tesla's powertrain tech yet?).

If I had to choose between those, probably the F150. The Cybertruck is just...a little too jarring to look at. 

 

One thing I hate about a lot of the newer EV marketing is how they're pushing wheel torque numbers instead of engine torque. So a lot of people are blown away by the 11,500 ft lb number in the marketing not realizing that it really only has 1,000 ft lbs by what every other manufacturer uses. Which is still an awfully impressive number so why deceive like that? 

 

I wonder how towing will affect battery life, not to mention health. Things get reeeeal hot when towing.

Fleet sales help massively with that. I've always thought Elon should be targeting that market. The US Government has deep pockets, and more and more cities are moving their fleets over to electric. Just make a box on wheels. Doesn't have to be pretty, and he can clearly make it cheap.

Not everything. While some things are certainly more advanced, their self driving tech is starting to be outpaced, and it's only a matter of time before the big players start beating them in a multitude of other areas. Certainly not 10 years. 

 

The charging network is a fair point but we're only 11 months away from Electrify America having the same number of stations as Tesla, and let's be real; 98% of the time you'll be charging at home.

It's only a matter of time before the big players surpass Tesla. They've done a great job at getting the word out and popularity up, but it's not like Tesla has magical engineers no one else does. Tesla tech is much further along than you seem to realize, and that is because of the type of tech they are using vs the other cars. There is a reason they chose the way they did their autopilot and not the way everyone else is working with, it is superior tech and easier to work with.

 

Again i go to price, electrify america isn't cheap, tesla averages $0.26/kW vs their $0.43/kW. My S had free SC so i currently give no shits about price but a new buyer would be inclined to go with the cheaper "refueling" option.  And i only have a 120v outlet at the house i can use to charge on, (Army base housing). So i do most of my charging at SC along the way, and i drive a lot because i like to drive, so i use the SC network for about 90% of my charging. There are a lot of people in my same situation and there are a lot in the normal charge at the house situation.

 

By the time EA has the same number of stations tesla does now, tesla will continue to have vastly more due to them constantly adding more. Right now tesla has 1027 stations and about 500 that are in construction or permitted pending construction. EA HOPES to have 800 by Dec of 2021.

They tossed a metal ball (or something) at the "bullet proof" window, and it immediately broke.

 

They were initially very confused, as they had literally repeated that bullet proof window test dozens of times earlier that day with perfect results.

 

Turns out that when they smashed the side of the door with the sledgehammer, they accidentally clipped the window somehow and caused a microfracture (likely the bottom of the window inside the doorframe was clipped by the force of the hammer).

 

So there is no fix. The fix is "don't smash your door with a sledgehammer".
