??? Ok, no problems! Everything is on the internet anyways. For the firmware update you can use the following link, it is not mandatory, but if you want to check for if there are updates for that unit, you can do it from here:

  • 4 weeks later...

So I’ve been working on this build for a long time (Ive posted a few updates and got help with some questions. Thanks for that! It really helped :)) and I finally finished my first ever self built gaming PC! ?

It gave me such a huge sense of pride and accomplishment and I love looking at it and thinking “I built that”. ?

I decided to go with a red, white and black theme. Mostly because the RGB on the AIO pump is stuck on white and I can’t change it so I tried to blend it in with a white theme.

Here are the specs:

Case: NZXT H510 Elite.

PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W (fully modular) 80+ Gold.

CPU: i7 8700K (overclocked @ 4.9 GHz).

RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB @ 3200 MHz CL16.

AIO: EVGA CLC 280 - 280mm.

GPU: EVGA XC2 Ultra 2080 Ti.

STORAGE:

- 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe.

- 1TB Samsung 860 Evo SATA SSD.

- 1TB Samsung 860 QVO SATA SSD.

- 2 TB Seagate Firecuda 7200rpm SSHD.

- 1TB WD Blue 7200rpm HDD.

FANS: Corsair LL120 RGB.

Monitor: MSI Optix MAG271CQR 27” 2560x1440 144hz 1ms.

Keyboard. Razer Cynosa Chroma.

Mouse: Razer Deathadder Elite.

Headset: Steelseries Arctis 5.

Webcam: Logitech C922x Prostream.

I sure hope so

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Um..well that was rude. “I hate XYZ” you could’ve at least added something nice or complimented something.

Why? Because I got all the Samsung drives on sale at different times.

Plus I noticed a 2TB EVO is more expensive then 2x 1TB EVOs.

Ive had the WD Blue for years and the Firecuda I got for stuff I don’t play often.

it just seemed like the only place there wasn't clear planning or there was but you failed to explain it.

maybe toss in a light strip or 2 as the case seems super dark but maybe that is your goal

I actually took the light strip out because I wanted it to be a bit darker so the black in the red/white/black theme stood out a bit more.

As for the SSDs..I bought them last year for cheaper than they are for sale now, by a significant amount, so I think I did well, would I pay full price for them today? Probably not. But back then at that price it was too good to turn down.

I honestly don’t notice any difference when I put games on my EVO or QVO. I had several games on my QVO before I got the EVO and the load times are identical or so small it’s unnoticeable.

For me the QVO is just a place to store games I play once in a while with long load times that make putting them on the HDDs tedious but also I don’t play enough to give them valuable space in the Evo or 970 evo plus.

my issues isn't with the read performance which is mostly what you do. That write performance for the cost is just bad if you have large games.

I’m not posting new “first build” posts.

Im posting updates to my original first build post because I can’t find it.

Theres a big difference since if I add new things or modification it’s not the same thing as it was originally.

I get what you’re saying though. I need to make it more clear that it’s an update so people don’t think I’m re-posting the same thing. I’ll make sure to do that next time.

I appreciate you finding my old thread and merging it though since I don’t have the same admin/moderator functions that you do and so I couldn’t find it or would’ve done it myself if I could.
