Should be be plenty on a 850.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Zulu-Cheese-Alpha-IV in Sciences proves mining kills cards
If the card lasts years mining, it isnt taking anything off its life span. As it lived through it already.

Just make a profile for that card as well when it comes with what ever gpu program you are using.
Undervolt, memory overclock, fan profile ect.

Aside from that not much, just start what ever miner you are using and it will take care of the rest. Assuming you aren’t using something like hiveos.

I wouldn’t use multiple miners, but it wouldn’t hurt. I use one per system. Another miner means a potentially higher dev free or the opposite.
Unless you mean the same miner multiple times, you can’t run multiple instances of the same one.

I’d take a 3090 fe any day of the week. Even have friends waiting on prices to get one.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BoxTurtle in What GPU should I get for ethereum mining?
Because you are wanting to buy a low end card that would pay itself off in 5 months assuming you do it 24/7.
So after that you’ll actually make profit. As opposed to buying the coin.
you can make money as fast as you can trade and convert within hours normally to actually seeing money in the bank.

And yes even without the changes coming I’d advise against it. No real point to go out of your way to mine with a single card in a whole system.

Do it and find out. Pads are cheap.

Can’t say what’s worth it to you.
Id never mine off a single card myself. Unless it was a 3090 or something.
you either want the money or don’t.

Mick Naughty reacted to kelvinhall05 in This is just depressing... (Plus so many people are CRAZY)
GPUs, especially high-end modern ones, are a luxury, not a necessity. This is how the free market and supply/demand works.

The depressing part is how many people continue to whine about it.

Figure out what miner you want to use then start it. Configure the card settings in the appropriate gpu program and that’s is. Not much else to be done. Unless you wonna flash the red card.

Paste and pads are prolly way too old. Isn’t hard to take apart. Hybrids are even easier than normal cards.
Also the tube should be on the bottom too keep the air trapped up top. Especially in the case of an old aio which will have even more air in it now.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Gifura in CPU 90c, how long will it last?
So I reverted my spare rig back to air cooling. Hoping to sell some other parts along with some testing again.

Anyway i left the water cooled oc's on everything.
3770k on auto oc. 103 on the clock and 41 multiplier. So 4.223 or something like that. According to precision x it's at 103c on bf1. Doesn't crash or anything. Reverted back to stock auto clock of 3.9 and the game will crash but it would be at 70-80c. I know precision x reads the CPU temp about 10c higher then all my other software.
So being too lazy to go get a decent air cooler, what's the worst case scenario? Prolly only gonna spend about 10-15 hours at the oc'd load while I test some stuff.

They will all be the same. If it’s the blower you can use the guide. 980ti, 780, even 1080 will be the same once the back plate is off.
Plenty of videos, as any build video that shows the tear down to put a water block on will be more than enough information.

I got coinbase years back. Simply select that in my nichhash app and send it there. Then convert the bitcoin to usd, then send it to my wallet. Easy task that takes about a minute.

Precisionx is always the proper program to use.
Max depends on the memory manufacture and card model.

46 at that power level is pretty dam good. 2080s tend to match or be under a 1080ti in hash. But yours seems to be using less power than mine to maintain the hash.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Apollo190 in Change the gpu in mining?
If the miner used gives you proper control you can do what ever you want. I’d just make sure the psu is capable of running the two cards with one at reduced power, one card at full and the cpu being utilized. As that’s how it would be while gaming and mining simultaneously.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from PWforPower in Why not receiving any crypto coint while mining
If you didnt set it up correctly you wont get anything, ever. But some require you reach a certain amount before getting a pay out. Which can take a long time with a single card, especially if you are only getting a 2.2 hash. I assume you mean 22.

People wouldn’t do it if it was bad.
Get which ever. If you’re serious about mining with them long term, get the 1k as it leaves room for degradation and efficiency. As that’s a big factor now and  it appears your knowledge is limited in this case. Having some headroom might help avoid some headaches when it comes to running the system.
