Dr Snazz reacted to LinusTech in Screwdriver Pop-Up Question
I'd prefer if people didn't do this because it will turn the fast/efficient checkout line into a slow customer service line, but obviously if it matters enough to you we will find a way to accommodate you.

Dr Snazz reacted to Ankit Sharma in Linus messed up with the "Trust me bro Warranty" T-shirt
I have been a long time follower of LMG and Linus in particular (Since NCIX) but I have never felt anything he did was more in poor taste than this "Trust me Bro Warranty" gag.

The community was right about this and Linus got it wrong, I am not sure why Linus can't just take being wrong on the chin and move on. Making fun of this was not required. Yeah it may have sold a lot but that is not a metric for being a good person which I think Linus genuinely is. I have grown up learning from this guy and I am in the tech world today because of him and I am very happy to credit him for it.
I post this in the forum even though I am not very active here, and not on Twitter or something since I think this platform is slightly more respectable with the audience and hopefully @LinusTech will read this and realise that he can get it wrong. He is a role model to a lot of people, me included.

I hope you see what is wrong here Linus. I do not know what you should do to fix it or if it needs fixing but as a long time fan of your nature more than anything else, I hope you will fix this.

It's made of recycled watter bottles. The brand is Repreve.

    I'd recommend hand washing.

Dr Snazz reacted to LinusTech in Ordered a backpack (because I love LTT) but family member said it was a bad idea. Need some advice.
The best thing for you to do is wait for more reviews on the store to make up your mind.

Like any enthusiast, your friend probably has emotional connections to brands that they like and trust. It's pretty normal.

The backpack might be flawed from their perspective, but it wasn't build for backpack nerds, it was built for tech nerds.

I've also seen the argument that we have no idea what we are doing because we've never built a backpack before from members of that community, but *obviously* we partnered with an experienced backpack manufacturer. Unlike the screwdriver we haven't felt it necessary to disclose our partner, but we'd be morons to just yolo it and sew them ourselves.

Imo real independent reviews from people who actually have it on their hands is the way to go.

Of course I come into this with my own set of biases 🙂

Dr Snazz reacted to Middcore in You don't get a warrantee because Linus might die at an inconvenient time
And you think the employees will want to?

If something happens to Linus, LMG as a company would shortly after cease to exist. An admirable effort has been made to establish other people as onscreen personalities so it isn't a total one-man show as far as the audience is concerned but the reality still is: Linus is LMG. If he's gone, then in all likelihood the company will wind up its operations and go out of business, and all the employees will move on to other jobs.

You don't like the warranty policy (or lack thereof), buy something else. I'm getting a little tired of all of the drama about this thing like it's the only fancy backpack that exists, when in fact there's a whole cottage industry of overpriced, overengineered EDC bags marketed at techy nerds.

Dr Snazz reacted to ToboRobot in LTT Store Complains about Backpack and Screwdriver Pricing
If you need or want a backpack/screwdriver and are willing and able to pay the retail price.  Great buy one if you want.

If you need or want a backpack/screwdriver and feel that the product isn't good enough, too expensive, lacks warranty, or other issues... Feel free not to buy one right now.  But you also don't need to complain, whine, insult others or disparage people or LMG because of your feelings about consumer products like backpacks and screwdrivers.  Not buying stuff is totally fine, and you don't need to share your feelings about it.  You can find alternatives, or my suggestion would be to go back a better and cheaper product and bring it to market.

a matching lunchbox that goes with the backpack. It could clip on via the carabiner or something more fancy. Would be cool for backpack folks and those who just want to keep their food cold alike. There are so many crappy lunch boxes so i'd love a LTT level quality one.

I don't think we've put out an official statement yet (although we will at some point),  but I know it's been mentioned on WAN show that for the time being we aren't planning on hosting an LTX this year. A virtual LTX is also not likely to happen since we're working on some other streams/events/videos that will happen throughout the year!

It's just not possible to host an event in person due to the ongoing pandemic, but we're hopefully that we can be back for 2022. We'll just have to wait and see.

This is the live interpretation of the meme of waiting for 3000 then super and ti and by then might as well wait for 4000. The answer is really up to you if there is something YOU find unsatisfying with your 1080 ti upgrade if not then don't.

it isn't really aimed at a console killer in any way other than size. you'd be much better served by a 50$ case, PSU, and a 50$ air cooler. even then you likely don't need the added cooler.

Bruh, just be patient like I get it you want your stuff soon HOWEVER we have a pandemic that the whole world is currently battling and we need not get upset with Amazon for trying to prioritize the stuff that people need to survive.

The bottleneck is shipping, not retailing. You may still get lucky with a particular order if it gets shipped quickly, and it happens to fit nicely in the shipping company's schedule, but you may still get a very different experience buying two different things from the same seller with the same delivery option.
Even Amazon orders may arrive before one month, it's just that they are no longer in a position to promise any faster delivery than that.

    it's perfectly normal, Amazon is focusing on delivering essential products first, anything else is put aside for at least 1 month ;
