PBO will boost until it hits TDC, EDC, PPT or thermal limits. Usually first three are set high enough that you are almost always thermally limited.

Memory training happens on every platform. Intel or AMD. It fills up the required timings that are not defined in XMP or default profiles.

Ryzen is not optimized for gaming. X3D models work better because they have more cache.

Zen3 tends to have 3600mhz as the acceptable level for DRAM frequency.

    It depends.

it depends on the materials ofcourse, but the problem is kind of that most components are made of a lot of different materials, so it can be assumed at least some of that will start to yellow EXTREMELY quickly. (as in months, not years.)
pat the yellowing comes that flexible stuff (cable insulation, flexible watercooling tubes) will become brittle, and eventually most plastics will just snap at a touch. the most problematic things will take years, but the beauty of a UV system wont make it anywhere near said years.

also, these days we have the power of LED.. you could literally just fill your case with purple LED's, and everything you'd want to be phosphor illuminated, be LED illuminated directly.

impossible you say? let me introduce you to this cable:

Don't have it with me now but I use these 12" Logisys tubes, one on bottom and one up top
There's the guy, powered on for the first time right after building it. I didn't have the tubes in at this point, bought them a few weeks later... I don't know if I have any photos, I will keep looking.

    What's your resolution, which monitor?

Also, the 5800XT hasn't been released, there are just a 5800X and a 5800X3D. AMD is supposedly releasing AM4 XT CPU-s soon.

Do not use UserBenchmark for anything meaningful, that tool and site are almost useless and misleading.

    Looking at the system, it's quite optimized for 1080p, maybe a newer/stronger GPU would do better, but I wouldn't recommend above a 3060Ti/4060 or Radeon 6600XT/6650XT/7600/7600XT/6700 for 1080p with a 5800X. A 5700X3D or 5800X3D could do a 4070 or RX 6800/7700XT.
If you're on 1440p, the 5800X can handle up to RX 6800XT/7800XT or RTX 4070 SUper, 4070Ti.

If you want to play games with raytracing down the road go green, otherwise the AMD gpus are more bang for your buck as long as you don't mind spotty driver support sometimes (unless it's changed?) Also Destiny isn't a very hard game to run so any of the GPUs you listed should do 1440p fine.

weeblord reacted to jaslion in Using an molex adapter for a GPU ?
Don't ever do this. This is a guarantee of failure and disaster. Molex is only really rated for 75w. Since you are using a daisy chain cable you are pulling form the same wire.

These molex to pcie adapters are made extremely shittly and known to melt.

Using 2 different cables is better but still don't do it.

    Not too surprised there.

As for mred psu's these all look identical to rebadges Aigo, sharkoon,... use and your specific one looks like the typical not safe to use one I see from time to time. You got lucky it lasted on your rig really.

It is the drive moving the actuator heads to a designated landing area to avoid damaging the platters / heads..  below the heads are parked on their landing zone.   Some older drives the heads park up by the spindle in as designated empty area of the platters.

16GB is enough for gaming in 99% of scenarios (unless you play Civ or such), it only starts to be a problem if you're using applications such as video editors or 3d modeling software.

In their latest update to their indiegogo supporters they've told us if we want a tracking number for our shipment we have to sign up for their "LATEST NEWS & OFFERS" mailing list. I should not have to be spammed by their marketing department just to receive a tracking number.

For a company as head strong as Nvidia, this is welcome news. Everyone and their granny could see through the Fauxty80.
This does mean however they're left with the only XX80 card being unapologetically $1200, which is ridiculous.
