Weak1ings got a reaction from elfensky in What's the difference between AMD APUs and Intel Processors?
Here it in simple terms:
AMD APU: GPU + CPU (weaker than most Intel for the CPU part)
Intel CPU: Simply better than AMD CPUs when paired with Discrete graphics cards The Premium brand.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Tedster in Cheap GPU?
This for $55 GT 730. Faster than most of the older cards (GT 640 and down)
Or a GT 720 with is a GT 630
$45
Really at this point, $10 can double your performance.

Sell Titan Blacks and get Titan Xs?

Weak1ings got a reaction from pugnaq in Help with build.
An unlocked processor allows you to overclock. This feature may save you some years ahead if you are still using it and can't upgrade but the costs are usually not worth it. By the time this CPU is too slow, you'll want something new anyways. The Xeon is the best value out there.
You can go for a 750 Ti but, the GTX 960 will Max out all games at 1080p with usually 60 FPS. All of those games you mentioned will be maxed out.
3200Mhz RAM or etc gives you 1-2 Frame per second increase vs slow RAM at the cost of 40% more price. It's just not worth it and will never be. I am maxing out the games I play with my DDR2 900Mhz RAM and 660.
The Titan X will max out everything period with at least 100 FPS. (in 1080p)
What I listed will be exactly what you want if you want solid performance for 5+ years.
16GB of RAM is more of a personal conviction that any build $1000 or more should have more than 8GB of RAM. You will probably need to upgrade in 2020 based on the rate of increase of use. Right now you can do 8GB but will need to upgrade soon.
I'd like to suggest exploring the genres exclusive to the PC like RTS, Management games, The Golden FPS games(the classics like Unreal), and many more things that aren't even gaming.

Weak1ings got a reaction from dadasmithywinkle in I think my 660ti may be getting bottlenecked...
If you are planning on Video editing go for the Xeon E3 1231 V3 which is pretty much the I7 at the price of the i5. Just know it's locked and has no integrated graphics.
The i7 is nice but expensive.

No. It will be integrated graphics. Get an adapter if you need one for your main GPU.

Heres some brilliant ideas:
A blender and some milk? Make it super warm and melty? Get a friend to cut it with a hot knife? Crack the shell and eat it first, then eat it's "Guts" Keep it in the wrapper? Just deal with it. Eat something else if mess is too much. Recoat it with a new case of pure chocolate. -

Weak1ings got a reaction from techswede in Driverless Cars
Autopilot and self-driving cars may perform the same function BUT, consider the scene and how complex the environment is for that car. You don't have to deal with pedestrians, Dogs, Squirrels, Maniacs, Police, etc. in the air. In any situation where there is little cause for alarm I would be comfortable being driven by a computer like on the highway. But when things get tough I want to be sure I am in control and not let something else, even if it's perfect, be in charge of the safety of myself.
There is also a factor of independence included but it's minor.
It's not that I'm scared, it's that I require knowing I am not going to be the victim of a Glitch in software or some bit of unlucky cosmic radiation and by being the driver, I can be confident that my car is serving ME and not the software producer.

Weak1ings got a reaction from LNW in Opinions on a new case
He he... Rosewill Throne It supports XL-ATX/ E-ATX for plenty of growing room and is massive. Which means you can have room for EVERYTHING. 12 3.5" HDDs? No problem.
Even Red and Black versions exist. Just that it costs $160...

This Fractal Design Node 804 has 10 3.5" Bays $70
Really that's the best, and cheapest m-atx with enough drives.
Now ATX:
NZXT Source 220 $48---- 8 bays.
Just grab a few cheap Arctic cooling fans $7.68 each, and your set. if you want a few fans blowing over them.
Apex Vortex with 6 bays for $38 One fan.

Weak1ings got a reaction from deadher0 in Upgrade from GTX690, what's my best bang for buck?
There are many options from Red and Green.
AMD R9 290X, the R9 290
vs
The GTX 970 (outperforms both the AMDs)
There are also 4GB GTX 960s in existence too... you could SLI them but the 970 is a better deal.
970 or 980 will be the best bet.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Decon in Tell me what you would change
I would go with shorter RAM like the Kingston Fury as what you have isn't even fast RAM. it'll just hurt later.
I also suggest going with a 2 TB HDD (+$20) or add an SSD if wanted.
There are also Cheaper, and faster GPUs out there. Card like the GTX 960, R9 280 and the R9 280X.(+$20)
otherwise, the build looks good. Keep the PSU. it's probably good.

Weak1ings got a reaction from HaloPrince in Need Help For Building A PC
First off,I did this way past my bedtime so I'm very tired... And it's a new currency. I have no idea what price is good or not. My suggestion is to find help on a forum for Indians instead of here, which is primarily going to be Americans/Canadians/Britains. Almost on the other side of the world!
Here goes!
10716 CPU AMD FX-8320
4765 Motherboard ASUS M5A78L
2348 Case Antec ATX tower
3722 HDD Western Digital 1TB Caviar Green
17650 GPU Galax GTX 960 2GB (I'd recommend a 4GB variant but I couldn't find it)
9900 Monitor Some Cheap 24" 1080p monitor 60hz.
4395 RAM Kinston Fury (My favorite) 1x8
6138 PSU Cooler Master 700W Thunder
400x2 More case fans They had good reviews so I figured they may be good despite amazon hiding ALL FANS QUIETNESS
The whole price comes down to 60434 rubees? Rupees? Rugbys?... Somethings anyways...
I hope it helped!

Weak1ings got a reaction from cowan in just built pc, turned on for 5 mins then shut down, won't turn back on
Try all your components in a different build and test that the work.
Also attempt to see if the mobo can complain about no RAM by testing with purely CPU and a single display on integrated (including PSU and cooler)

Weak1ings got a reaction from harrynowl in Need help choosing parts for AMD gaming rig
Xeon E3 1231 V3 is the Haswell-Refresh version and runs a bit faster. Consider recommending this one.
Anyways, I honestly think any Intel chip out there will likely perform better.
If AMD only exists though here my input:
Go for the FX-8350 and grab a good Noctua NH-D15 cooler and OC it to hell! (Stock it's fine but... not as fun)
As for GPU Go for the 960. the 750 ti is slow in comparison. If you are interested, AMD may have a 280X which may outperform the 960 at the price range... but this is too early to say that cause of drivers.
Unless the need is urgent, I'd recommend waiting a bit for a higher VRAM model of the 960 to come out.
