Zappy got a reaction from BudgetEngineer in Help making android suck less at group messaging
Android has something similar, it's called Hangouts. On Android it'll handle text messages and send data-based messages to those with the app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.talk

There's an iOS version if you can convince your friends to use it. https://itunes.apple.com/app/hangouts/id643496868?mt=8

Zappy got a reaction from SSOB in New phone and why I didn't get the m8
10 reasons why you should have gotten the M8 instead of the M7

1- The M7 won't have be updated as long as the M8. Therefore it'll feel a lot older faster around this time next year
2- On that point, newer versions of Android that are coming might not run as smoothly on older hardware
3- The M7 is going to be updated to Sense 6 soon, so if you have a problem with it (which there's not much of a difference) then you'll have it worse on the M7
4- The battery life is significantly better on the M8, you can get two days of use out of it with light use.
5- The button placement is plain weird on the M7, while the M8 has a standard Android button setup
6- The MicroSD card on the M8 makes it a lot more flexible, where you can have a card full of music and videos
7- The M8 has a bigger screen which is great for video watching
8- $100 more is barely a drop in the bucket compared to the $2000+ you'll spend over a contract, you might as well get a phone that'll last
9- The knock to turn on is dead useful given the power button is so badly placed
10- The Duo Camera is fun to play around with

Given nobody on this forum has actually used a OnePlus One... how can you have a valid opinion. Specs are great and all but they aren't a measure of the actual quality of the experience or how well they work in real life.

Here's a Google Play edition rom you can install once rooted with a custom recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706441

Keep in mind you own't get over the air updates so you'll have to install a new rom when the next version of Android comes out.

You'll spend a lot less money if you just bought a spare battery or 2 for the S4... Honestly practically speaking the only place where modern flagship phones stumble with camera is the lack of optical zoom.

It's not like they need to do much drivers, they just give the OS to the owners. It's pretty basic.
It would make google look like EA just saying f*ck you get new phones b*tches with 2-3 year old phones.

Either way, I'm waiting until official announcements before writing it off. Worst case scenario, I can flash ROMs built from source.
Nexus One's support lasted close to 2 years (updates ended officially with the announce of ICS).

Reason why API Level doesn't make much sense: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Nexus#Comparison_of_phones
Nexus one launched with Eclair, discontinued with Gingerbread. That means it got all Froyo updates as well as Gingerbread. 2 "Major" versions due to code name.
Nexus S launched with Gingerbread. Since then, it got ICS and was discontinued with Jelly Bean. Honeycomb was skipped due to Tablet version. Again, 2 Major code name releases.

    If history repeated itself:
Galaxy Nexus launched with ICS. It has since only gotten Jelly Bean updates. Key Lime Pie could be expected for the second major codename release. It's also been 19 months of updates since its launch, which gives it 3-5 more months before it's officially discontinued in terms of updates. They've only discontinued production.
Nexus 4 launched with Jelly Bean, and Key Lime Pie is definite for the Nexus 4. It'll also probably get Lemon Meringue or whatever the codename will be for the letter L.

The rough 2-year lifetime for updates is also visible.

I think the bigger issue with the TF700 is the slow NAND memory it uses that really hurts it's performance.

iOS 7 looks like a solid update that will give Apple faithful many features that other platforms have had for awhile though I wouldn't really call anything in it innovative.
