Nope. A majority are actually done on GPUs. As many altcoins are ASIC proof which leads to GPU farms. This is the main reason why there was such a shortage of 480s and 1060s.

The problem is you can't prove something is conscious or self-conscious. I cannot prove you exist, nor anything else around me. I basically take it on "good faith" that everything around me is really occurring. You can provide evidence that something is self-aware, or even just aware, but at this moment, you cannot prove it.

This is my first news post and I hope it classifies as such, if not feel free to move it.
This pioneer (amongst others) for what we now are using everyday and the younger generations take for granted, is now dead which I don't personally think is sad as it's part of life, but let's hope that he will never be forgotten for being the man that had enough of using 3 machines for 3 different projects just because there was no network and fixed the problem.

I see that the people that complained about the source, didn't bother to at least check to see if others covered it. All I see is "this is right wing, this is alt right" without even bothering to humor the possibility that the information might be real, or at the very least, covered elsewhere.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/01/opinion/sunday/video-games-arent-addictive.html

NYT, far from "alt right", posted basically the same information.
Rather than immediately dismiss the sources and proclaim the information is false simply because of said source, actually look into it. I see no point in putting fourth the effort to dismiss the source, over putting in the effort to validate it.

Would you rather prefer if Valve/Steam just does their own thing without asking for any opinions and then you can "hate" Valve all you want.

Dude I think you do not understand what Steam is probably doing... They are not "putting their decision making in the hand of 2 bitter, [...]". It's a fucking consulting Job. As the biggest curators with the largest groups of followers and lots of experience with the steam platform and the curation system they have very, very valuable perspectives on what is means to review games on steam. How meaningfull it is or not, how useful it is, or NOT, how impactful it is, or NOT... etc.

The post says they are trying to give the smaller curators more impact, not themselves the curating giants, this is pretty self-conscious. Also Valve probably wanted their input on the tools they have already set-up and ways to make them better or take things out that don't work.

I think no matter your opinions on these british pricks, they are more than capable of helping Valve make a better platform for Curators and trough them Game Consumers as well.
Yes, TB can be, and frequently is, an asshole, but he (and Jim) are pretty damn knoweldgeable and it would be dumb of Valve to not make use of them when they can.

Otherwise, this is exactly what "Steam link" does and it does only need a network cable.
Once setup with steam you can do a lot more then just run steam in big picture mode, the only drawback with a steam link is that you can't use the pc for something else while a game is running.

Otherwise you could go with a 5m/10m usb extension and use wireless controllers.

I would recommend to watch JayzTwoCent as he is a watercooling enthusiast and gives a lot of info on watercooling.
That's where I would start, otherwise just search for charts/reviews/benchmarks for AIO watercoolers and see what performs best, I do not have a personal opinion to give you to which is better/worse as I'm myself still on air cooling but I'm on my way to get myself watercooling as well and where I am at the moment is that I will probably get myself a kit from EK Waterblocks as their configurator is really easy to work with and has a reasonable price for what you get.

Marcel Kipka reacted to kladzen in AMD Ryzen - Games in 1080p can improve more than 35% !
Okay.. back at it again with some ryzen news... yet again i was looking into ryzen overclocking videos.. when i came across this from amd's own site!

    https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/03/14/tips-for-building-a-better-amd-ryzen-system

Basicly it's about how to optimize your build.. but also states some of the issues that will be fixed with patches down the road.. However the interesting part of this was the game optimization!

The game tested was "F1" racing game and how correct optimization is important.. So the game creates a file explaining what hardware the computer has, cpu/threads and so on.. this gets sync via steam cloud and re-synced to another computer if you reinstall the game.. Now the issue is if you have installed this on a 4core/4t CPU in the first place.. the game on a ryzen build will not notice its a 8c/16t cpu!... but rather the old 4C/4T due to the resync gamefiles... If fixing the resync game files (etc deleting them) the game then thinks its a 16 phycical core cpu... However this can also be fixed.. as this is a 8C/16T cpu.. not a 16 core cpu  Now manually editing the game file to correctly look at a 8C/16T CPU the game gains even more performance..

a wooping 35.53% more performance in 1080P gaming!  From 98.5 fps to 133.5 FPS - Now this just shows how important game optimization is... F1 is not the only game saving files about hardware setup, alot of games do! So getting game optimization is VERY important! And just shows that the "1080p gaming" issues might not even be relevant when game developers fix their games!

Marcel Kipka reacted to LAwLz in AMD Ryzen - Games in 1080p can improve more than 35% !
    What the test actually shows:
Do a clean install when you change platform, or else your performance in some games might be lower than they should.
By the way, overclocking and/or faster RAM gives higher benchmark scores.

    What people will read:
OMG WITH THIS ONE TRICK RYZEN'S FPS IN 1080P BENCHMARKS INCREASES BY 35%!
    INTEL IS FINISHED! AMD WON!

I can't wait for Reddit to find this and then parrot it over and over and over. It will be a fun couple of weeks where the game developers gets all the blame for Ryzen's (comparatively) poor gaming performance...
Because clearly people can't just accept the fact that Ryzen 7 isn't a CPU meant for gaming.

Interesting tests though. Seems like a really bad idea to handle things the way F1 does, but it makes me wonder if more games does it that way.

Boom! Right there. Scroll down until you see the title, "AM3/AM4 Cooler Support" and in those pictures, you can see that this is the only board that has support holes for BOTH AM3 and AM4 coolers! This is a fantastic design that hasn't been reported on any other board yet (from what I've seen) and is a HUGE selling point.

After headaches of searching for the best cooler, now we can just reuse what we already have if you still have your AM3 brackets for your cooler!
