Asus doesn't manufacture motherboards.  Foxconn manufactures motherboards for Asus in China.
 
So your requirements are likely to be:
 
1) Live in China.
2) Be willing to work for the equivalent of $4800 USD/per year
3) Be able to hold your pee for upwards of 12hrs or be willing to wear diapers.
3) Be willing to work at a facility where it's factories and dorms (Yes, dorms, you didn't think you'd get to go HOME after work did you???) have had to install 'suicide nets' around building perimeters because the working conditions are so poor that employees keep ending their lives on site.
 
 

If you have to ask, you won't even be close to their ideal candidate. 

You already know the performance of 580 vs 1060 6GB, then you yourself can answer that question. Is it worth waiting a few months for a card that performs roughly the same, maybe a bit better in some games? Only you can answer that.
 
If you were asking is it worth waiting for Vega? Then that would be a valid question.

pretty sure the cost of repair will be more than the cost of a new mobo.

one 1080ti is probably enough to satisfy all but the most demanding gaming setups (talking triple 4k and the like here), i'd see the second one as more added hassle than benefit.

When I was selling my PS4 Pro on kijiji, I got at least 5 offers to pay the asking price (I was asking pretty high) but he was buying for his "cousin" from another province so he asked if he could pay upfront by paypal. I asked why don't you drive here, give me the money and you mail the console to your "cousin" yourself. He said he is out of town right now.
 
I stopped the conversation right there. Loads of bullshit.

Just FYI, even 1080Ti can't push every game > 120fps maxed out at 1440p.
 
gtx 1070 is good for 1440p 60fps at most, you need at least gtx 1080 to enjoy 1440p 144hz

I used to own an Acer XG270HU 1440p 144hz TN sitting on the left, and a LG 27UD58 4K IPS 10bit sitting on the right.
 
Every time I moved my cursor from the 144hz to the 60hz panel I got sad.
Every time I moved my eyes from the 4k IPS to the 1440p TN I got sad.
 
I sold them both and got the Samsung CF791 34" ultrawide 1440p 100hz panel.
