Yes, higher % is better. It might drop like 1 or 2 percent but considering most PSU's nowadays have 10+ year warranty's I doubt it'll be anything noticeable

actually rx 580 is better than 1060 now.

monjessenstein reacted to Stahlmann in [Misinformation] Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 "Ultra", faster than RTX 3060 Ti
Nice, now they can release a "30XX", then the "30XXTi", then the "30XX Super" and finally the "30XX Ultra". I can't wait for the "3090 Super Ultra Ti" that has 5% more performance than a 3090 and 48GB VRAM.

These new NVIDIA names just sound like a children's toy. "Get the new Super Soaker Ultra Ti!"

Or is this Ultra thing a new Asus model like a TUF or Strix card but with actual hardware changes?

Seconded, plus if you don't care too much about the speed but do want reliability it could be worth running 2 identical drives in RAID 1, since that'll keep your data save even in the case that a drive fails.

Looks good to me, only thing I would say is if you are only going to be playing games on it then 32Gb of RAM is overkill, 16Gb would be fine.

There's no real reason to upgrade one for gaming so no one is getting rid of them I'd imagine.

should never buy your PC in pieces btw, woulda been better off with an R5 3600 most likely

what country exactly? if your country is supported in pcpartpicker.com you should use that.

I'd reccomend a slightly better power supply (PSU tier list in my sig)
Your motherboard MIGHT not work out of the box, since it might require a BIOS update for 3000 series CPUs. I'd reccomend trying to get an msi "MAX" series board, which is guaranteed to work out of the box with 3rd gen. (there is also a motherboard tier list in my signature, try to get at least tier C)

monjessenstein reacted to nox_ in Will a motherboard that doesn't have an "X" or "Z" in the name work with the auto-overclock on my GPU
It refers to intel cpu's only. Does not apply to gpu's.

monjessenstein reacted to Princess Luna in Will RTX 2080S get bottlenecked by i7 7700? Need expert opinion!
Should be fine, the CPU is indeed the weaker link but it won't be as bad as it seems specially because you're targeting ultra settings which will put more workload on the GPU.

I had the same i7 7700 paired with a 1080 Ti in the past and it played out fine enough, I just recommend avoiding multi-tasking when you play demanding games. As it is I only suggest upgrading when Intel's 10th gen is launched and see if they'll improve pricing.

monjessenstein reacted to steelo in Amd 220Ge vs pentuim 5400 gold
Personally, I would spend the extra $10-15 and get the Ryzen 3 1200 or 2200g (quad cores). Both CPU's you listed are VERY low end but the pentium is slightly more powerful. I'm not completely certain they wouldn't bottleneck your GTX 1060

Unless this is a basic work email PC, saving $15 just is not worth it.

I honestly think the only thing they could add is an official IP rating, though that costs money and excluding it probably helps keep the price down somewhat.

monjessenstein got a reaction from TheFalcro in CPU you use, and why?
Got a 1600, mainly just because it came with a good box cooler, good long term support for the cpu compared to the intel chips at the time (7000 series) and was banking on games becoming more multithreaded in the future, which I'd say payed of.

Is this for gaming purposes? If you go with a Ryzen 5 3600 and B450 motherboard, you could probably put more money towards a graphics card for even better performance.

    Quotes/Excerpts:

    My Thoughts:
I can understand embedding a microcontroller to verify battery authenticity, but to lock a single battery to a single phone and mark other authentic batteries as degraded is just plain toxic. Surely this will bring up some lawsuits as if this was a car such as iFixIt pointed out, there would be absolute outrage. I would really love for media to spin this as "Apple may be selling bad batteries, swapping batteries between two iphones will suddenly mark both as bad" but I'm sure that's defamation/slander as it's misrepresenting the truth. Hopefully, the repair community will get some leaked tools to reset these micro-controllers or equipment is made to quickly swap the micro-controllers as well.

If the GPU still works, then it's not bricked. Drivers not working is not the same thing as being bricked.
