imreloadin got a reaction from charlie_root in I want to become System Administrator. Where to start?
One word, homelab. Literally just get a small network set up and experiment with things like virtualization, scripting, and automation software like ansible/chef/puppet. Show you have a passion for the material and just have fun with it. College programs like Electrical Engineering teach you to be an Electrical Engineer. See if they have an Information Technology degree that you can pursue because that'll be more advantageous for you for starting off as a Junior Sys Admin than an EE degree. The degree gets you an interview, the homelab is what sets you apart from the crowd and gives you real world experience with what is actually done. Tell them your stories about how you broke things and then how you fixed them. Show a willingness to learn and you'll be golden.

Ok...so what is the manufacturer and model number? ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, etc all make motherboards with a Z390 chipset...

I had the same problem with Metro 2033 and I eventually just gave up, wish I could help but it's fundamentally broken from what I've been able to see from other people's posts online.

I think the opposite approach is better here. Buy a 500GB Crucial P1 now, and a couple months down the line when he's running out of space, buy a hard drive and use it for mass storage.

This secures the best performance from day 1 and doesn't force him to reinstall Windows into the new SSD if you were to buy it later.

Yeah, this guy doesn't have any idea what he's actually doing from the sounds of it. From using thermal throttling as a "feature" to dial back an overclock to being defiant AGAINST setting his vcore manually makes me just think he's trolling us honestly.
