Some boring facts about that case. There are 4 versions of it.

Version 1: Both side panels comes with sound dampening materials

Version 2: Side panel has mount for a case fan, 120mm I believe, can't remember

Version 3: Side panel Window

Version 4: With Side panel windows and ESA (Enthusiast System Architecture) Some thing they thought up back then, where certified components can communicate with each other or something like that.

Here is an article about it.

Floor.

Gives me more desk space and any noise it makes isn't as loud.

Neither. I keep it on a TV cabinet beside my desk. It's too big and heavy to put it on the desk and I want it on display ;-)

i keep mine on my desk. for a few reasons.

  • my desk is very big. i can comfortably put 2 24" displays on it, and 2 pc's, and still have space left over.
  • i like watching the rgb inside
  • easy access to I/O

i don't mind the fan noise because i always have my noise-cancelling headphones on.

My PC is on the floor. I wanted to put it on my desk but it wouldn't work with my current desk setup.

You forgot wall mounted PCs and server racks. xD

Most PC enthusiasts like to look at their PC so yeah desk for sure. Tho if I had crappy budget case it would be on the floor away from sight haha

If your case is small enough to fit on a desk it's not big enough

My old case had intake fans on the bottom, the filters were clogged up so much when I kept it on the floor. Moved it to the desk, now I have a flashy new case which is much nicer to look at.

Floor, for the simple reason that my table is simply not big enough for it to fit.

(It isn't even large enough to support my monitor and speakers!)

Desktop: HP Z220 Workstation, 12 GB RAM, 2x500 GB HDD RAID0, + GTX 1060 3GB

Laptop: ThinkPad T430, 8 GB RAM, 1x120 GB SSD

on the desk, i can't see it on the floor, usb ports are too far and if i put it on the floor someone will kick it and damage the acrilic panel

i just put it on the side, so i keep most of the desk space and can access the pc ports and buttons, if my case wouldn't have the acrilic window, i would put it behind the monitor, so i keep it on desktop and keep my desk as empty as possible, to use laptop, or scanner or my printer

  • 2 months later...

Where do you guys place your PC - on the table besides you, or on the floor ?
And which is better in term of cooling ?
I had read that if you put it on the floor PC clogs with dust faster.

floor for my main PC, table if im using the Toaster for a LAN or something.

You shouldnt put a PC on a carpeted floor if you have a PSU that breathes from the bottom or you have some other bottom intake fans as it can sink in enough to choke it. I dont have a carpeted floor so my PC is just fine on the floor

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

On my table, it's better for cooling and it lets me see inside the case easier.

you should focus on your monitor!! while keeping it at an eye level to see if fans are spinning

then it makes no difference in cooling as long as the vents arent blocked and assuming the cables are long enough
