Why can't Musk just keep his damn mouth shut? He presented an idea, it was less than stellar considering the kids were rescued by regular divers, but whatever, a mini submarine is still pretty cool and at least he and his team tried to help; then he has to go on twitter and make an ass of himself... and frankly, unwarranted pedophilia accusations out of nowhere are inexcusable. He deserves to be sued and I hope he loses, maybe that will teach him that sometimes the best answer is silence.

There have been news in the past that have turned out completely fake, but were still reported as news by all the big news websites. Even worse when it came out as fake some still left it up.

Screenshots are very easily faked, but news still pick them up as real, that is i am a bit cautitious about news stories that only have 1 screenshot as a source.

Sadly twitter is volatile, which is why I hate it being used as a source for anything - but unfortunately people like Musk use it as their main outlet of information and there is no other available source. Since you can't save a twitter page (in any way that makes it more credible than a screenshot) it's the best we can get.

 

But again... do you have any reason to suspect this isn't true, other than "things have been fake in the past... sometimes... on terrible websites"? Statistically, what is the ratio of fake news vs real news on the BBC? Why wouldn't Musk have instantly called this out if it were fake?

lets look at it this way, its two egos colliding , lets assume he was genuinely trying to help & the other guys who were called to help saying it's a pure publicity stunt when they were working on the project purely aimed at helping when they were working hard on it ,  it's easy to call something an outright publicity stunt when it's all said & done & things went according to plan , he was considering alternate options if mission failed.

 

consider the situation from his point of view, if rains came in strong & harder while it happened and the whole cave situation was in a very critical condition  which divers could not enter through manual labor or would be heavy time consuming process, this would be an impeccable pivoting system that would be useful sustaining life support from end to end without putting more people at risk trying to save the ones trapped ,
