Are qaud core phenoms still good for gaming?

Are qaud core phenom ll still exceptable for gaming and will 2 radeon HD 7850 in crossfire give me decent fps ,and graphics?

which ones as there is many CODs and NFS cause if you mean the most recent, I would say it's possible, but you want a slightly more beefy CPU, and the GPU is alright I guess but again it's not amazing, and crossfire is not a good idea go for a single better card if possible. If you already have all this hardware however I mean you can play it but I would say low-medium on settings is where you'll be

yes the newer ones also will be upgrading to 8 core processor soon and gpu's I already had previous, I will probably wait for 11 series cards to drop and see if 10 series cards get any cheaper then I am switching to nvidea so, should I got with phenom 8 core or fx series 8 core?

neither of them, both bad...if you have an Am3 motherboard with a CPU, just sell it to the most offering and put that money toward something better...like a ryzen 3 for example.

I understand there both inferior to ryzen, but the goal is to have the most game friendly PC with the least amount of money put into it, until prices for Ryzen CPU's and ryzen compatible motherboards are at a price I'm comfortable paying ,right now the setup I want is to much with would be higher level Ryzen .most of the parts I have now where free or really cheap 10 -15 bucks

thinking of going for amd fx 8 core, also looking into nvidia 980 ti I think it was looks like founders edition 1080 kinda bit it was a previous to 10 series model

Get an i7 2600 Optiplex minitower, upgrade the PSU and add a GTX 1050Ti for extreme budget. FX has terrible IPC even compared to an 8 year old Sandy bridge.
