Lol, the new keyboards feel awesome imo. A lot more clicky than other laptops and the keys almost feel mechanical.

Mechanical? The keys have as bout as much travel as a touchscreen.....

I go between a K95 Plat (MX Browns), Surface Pro 4 typecover, Logi K830, MBP '17, Acer Aspire E, K70 Lux (Blues), Razer BlackWidow Chroma (Greens), and a literal touch screen keyboard, without problem. The MBP is closest to the touchscreen by a long shot.

Yeah, I just don’t get that. Idk how to guys type on your touchscreens, but the new MacBook Keybaords aren’t even close to feeling like a touchscreen.

I hate my mbp keyboard, a lot. Which says a lot because I used to consider the MBP keyboard one of my favorite laptop keyboards. Like, I think it would be ok for a macbook, but not a "pro". It is really amazing it clicks at all with how thin it is, but I don't care if it's a couple mm thicker, build it like I intend to use it seriously

The current keyboards have nearly no travel. To be quite honest, someone could still convince me that the keys don't move and it's just an array of Apple's haptic engines, going just off of how it feels typing on the thing.

 

There is no overlap between Apple's keyboard and any mech board if feel.

Guess I can’t convince people who simply don’t agree. Other than its obviously flawed design in terms of serviceability, I think it’s a great keyboard.

Literally the least travel of any keyboard I've ever used. Of course people dont like it. IT's an amazing technology that allows them to fit something thats technically a keyboard and has snappy clicks with almost no travel. Better than nothing. Like a surface keyboard

I agree with how little travel it is compared to even the surface keyboard. Yea its clicky but I need more feed back then that. I dont feel like I am pressing the keys, you just touch it and it clicks. It drives me nuts.

pretty much. I think its what most people look for in a laptop keyboard, as it lets people touch type a little better. Less travel makes me type slower and more carefully. 
I'm one of the freaks the really likes the usb aluminum apple keyboards for some reason, it is subjective. But those have enough travel for me.

Travel is a huge part of how good a keyboard is, followed by feedback.

While we all will agree it's dumb, and will criticise NVidia about it, but I doubt we care about it as much as we would if the exact same thing happened to a high end expensive card.

That’s indeed the GT 1030 you’re talking about.

However, I do feel that it’s as bad - or even worse - if NVIDIA would do the same misleading trickery with the 1080 though.

A lower clock speed and slower memory... then they really should have called it something else like the 1029 or so.

I think sypran's point is that we would be more angry of any top end product being dodgy like that, not just nvidia.  But yes the 1030 was a clear example of Nvidia shooting themselves in the foot in the credibility department when it comes to enthusiasts.

I do too; that's part of what convinced me to buy my MacBook Pro at Best Buy in March 2017.  (It isn't the best keyboard that I've ever used; I'm 41 and I've used a lot of different keyboards in my life.)  And that's why this news stinks so much.

They own it. And thankfully enough, after 3 years they are the only one to use it. Glad none of other manufacturers jumped on this trash for once.
