And, AMD has 7nm working.

You mean TSMC? AMD doesn't have a fab.

Wow, DDR5 is coming soon and I still use DDR2. Only 3 of my systems have even DDR3, and I don't own a thing with DDR4.

Im still sitting here with my 4690K.

So, they can make DDR5, but can't fix the DDR4 shortage?

Which shortage? As far as I've seen there has been an abundance of DDR4 available at all times the last couple of years. The selection in the main online stores here in Norway is still overwhelming, yet the prices are ridiculous. 1080 Ti graphics cards on the other hand have been more or less unavailable locally since the beginning of the year, that's what looks like a shortage to me.

he is talking about the price increase from the module price increasing. there might b stock of DDR4, but that doesnt change the price of the modules. There is now ongoing case if there has been a pricefix for these modules. Even if they can get a hold of ddr4 doesnt mean they can sell them at a loss due to high module prices.

Still time until it reaches consumers on new platform. But seriously prices need to get back to normal with current memory. A 16GB 3200Mhz kit costs too much. Should be half the price. Just saying.

I recently upgaded from Z77 to X79 with a 3960X... just to avoid having to pay for DDR4. kept the DDR3 I already had.

Though 3960X's are stupid cheap right now lol.

That said... I boxed myself in a way that when it does come time to upgrade something; I will have to replace everything in my PC... the 3960X is like right on the edge of bottlenecking the 1080ti. it's an extremely "Balanced" system.

So that'll be a huge bill in the future...
